It's been a long time in the making, but the sheepshead are finally showing up.The arctic blast we experienced here in Crystal River and Homosassa a few weeks ago sent our gulf water temperature plummeting into the low 40's. These temperatures have delayed the much anticipated sheepshead from migrating inshore. However, the water temperature is back in the low 60's and the fish are moving in. Targeting the hard bottom areas between Crystal River and Homosassa will be the hot spots for the next couple of months. Grouper and trout are closed for the month of February; so fishing for these convict fish is a great "and tasty" alternative to take some fish home for a meal or two. Here is Ryan with a Crystal River sheepshead that could not resist a live shrimp... Good Fishin' Capt. Dan
