Homosassa Sheepies Jan.29th 2010

Another great day on the water! I had a great charter out of MacRae's today on the Homosassa river for some outstanding sheepshead and trout fishing. We left the dock at 9am and arrived at our first rock pile by 9:45 and the fishing was on. Sheepshead after sheepshead came into the boat. Most were well into the 2lb size and a couple went over 5lbs. My good friend and fellow Homosassa Guides Association member Capt. William Toney was right beside me and he did extremely good as well. We fished the shallow rock piles west of Homosassa and live shrimp either rigged on a jig head or a knocker rig with a #2 hook was the trick. After our cooler was full of sheepshead we targeted some trout and caught a few that couldn't resist a DOA jerk bait in the golden bream color. I want to thank Randy, Mark, Rob and Dan for a great time and look forward to another great charter in the future. Here is Rob with one of the big sheepsheads that made his way into the cooler...
