Going Fresh Feb.3rd 2010

We changed things up from the usual routine today. Capt. William Toney, Capt. Cade Burgdorf ( owner of the OutCast tackle shop in Homosassa) and myself had a fun day chasing down some largemouth bass and speckled perch on the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes outside of Inverness. My usual focus is usually inshore flats and offshore grouper fishing.  However, it is fun to change it up once in a while, and fish the fantastic freshwater fishery we have right here in Citrus County. There are miles and miles of shoreline on these lakes that have produced some huge largemouth bass over the years. We didn't catch that ten ponder but we did land a few specks and a couple chunky largemouth bass throughout the day. If your enjoy freshwater fishing you owe it to yourself to check out these lakes. Here is William with the first cast of the day, a beautiful lake Hernando bass... Capt. Dan
