Double Digit Reds...

What a fun day with Joe and Joanne and we spent this beautiful day red fishing. The tide was incoming just about all of the day and we jumped point to point free lining shrimp to tackle the reds. The team caught some beautiful upper slot red fish and numerous under slot reds to fill out our Crystal River Charter. I can't thank you both enough for the fun day and I always enjoy our days on the water... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Reds...

Well, the trout bite was non existent for us today, but we scrapped out a couple red fish to save the day. I had Joe and Mike on board and the red fish were on right out of the the gate. My team immediately hooked up with a couple lower slot keepers and some shorts to get the day off to a start. The wind was howling out of the South and after we left the red fish; it was just to rough to go offshore to the trout grounds. So, I tried all the inside spots inside Homosassa Bay, but came up empty handed - non even a strike for us. All the other boats did the same with good red fish action, but a slow trout bite. A very fun couple of days with the Scott party and I thank you all for the good time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Mix...

A great day at the Homosassa Fishing Club with the Scott party and myself and fellow Homosassa Guides Association Captains Mark Zorn, Clay Shidler, Rick Spratt and John Hamilton did outstanding. Awesome trout catches across the board, and good mixes of sea bass, grunts, mackerel, grouper and sheepshead filled out the teams day. My group did very well and had a great variety. I thank you all for the fun day and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

7ft Trout....

Had to wait for the storms to move in before we could make it to the trout grounds, but they eventually cleared. I had Lee on board as my solo guest and we hit the bars for some fun with jacks, blue fish and small trout to get the day going. I told him though, once this weather passes; the hot bite was just a bit offshore. We made it to the 7ft depth range and the action was excellent. Trout, lady fish, sharks and the usual mixed bag kept the rods bent for a couple hours while using MirrOlure Lil' Johns. A great day my friend and I always look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Catch & Release...

Wow! What a day on the shallow rocks. We were at the Homosassa Fishing Club for day two fishing the Stribling party and my team did great. My team was outstanding and since it was just a catch and release trip; I said let's check on the shallow water grouper. I ran to the rock piles and we cast plugs to check on the gags and it was awesome. We totaled nine keeper gags on Rapala F18's, took some great pictures and sent them home. Also for the day, we drifted the grass patches in 9ft of water off Homosassa and had a mix. Trout, lady fish, blue fish, sea bass and more sharks than I could count, kept us busy when were weren't tackling the grouper. What a day and I thank Tyler and Nick for the fun day... Capt. Dan

Down South Trout...

A great day out of the Homosassa Fishing Club with the Stribling party and my team knocked out the trout. We made the run south of "Chazz" and drifted the shallow hard bottom areas with DOA glow jerk baits. The bite was excellent and we actually sight fished quite a few of them. By noon the guys had their limit and we spoon fed some small reds and a snook to cap off the day. A beautiful spring day and I thank everyone for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Day Three...

Day three and the final day with the West party out of the Homosassa Fishing Club and it was another good one. Today's crew of Paul, John and Mike were my team and we made the run south to "Chazz" to find some trout. The team and I did great using DOA glow jerk baits over the shallow hard bottom area's catching the trout; before the white caps and wind got the best of us. Around noon, the wind just got to bad and we made our way back North to find a red fish. We caught a nice keeper red and hooked two snook that chewed through the leader before we could bring them boat side. A fantastic couple days of fishing and I thank everyone from the West party for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Day two at the Homosassa Fishing Club fishing the West party and my team and I made the run offshore today. I had Tom, Tommy and Herbert on board for the ride West until we hit the 17ft range. We anchored and had some excellent action on Cobia, grunts and grouper. Tom landed a nice keeper cobia, Tommy had an under slot and Herbert was on grunt patrol. Lots of great fun and we ran back to the grass patches in 7ft of water and picked up 8 keeper trout to end the day. I thank you all for the great day and congratulations Tom on your first keeper cobia... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Trout...

Another great day offshore on the trout and today I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club fishing the West party. My team did excellent and we drifted the grass patches in the 7ft-9ft depth range and it was fantastic. They guys had their limit by noon and had plenty of action with lady fish, shark and sea bass too. MirrOlure Lil' John's were the baits of the day and after the great trout bite; we made our way inshore to find a red fish. Well, today we did finally catch quite a few reds. I put the trolling motor down, tied on some gold spoons and went searching. We landed about a dozen, but all were in the 17" range. A really good day and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Offshore Trout...

Well, we unfortunately got blown out again yesterday for our offshore trip, but today we were back on the trout. I had Bill, Roland and Jerry on board for the day and targeting trout was the name of the game. The day started on the bars catching quite a few on DOA deadly combos, but mostly shorts with a handful of keepers. I told the guys let's go offshore and it will be good. We made it out to the 7ft range and we had a beautiful limit of trout in just a couple of drifts. Always a great time with you guys and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan
