Crystal River Inside and Out...

Another fine day off Crystal River with Christy and Andy and the husband and wife team did outstanding. We began the day running to some shallow ledges in the 11ft range and sent down the pin fish. The team caught their limit on just a couple stops and a mix of other species as well while on the rocks. I had a red fish request, so I made the run back inshore and we found a pair of slot sized red fish and some little ones to end our day. I always enjoy our days together and thank you both for the great day... Capt. Dan

The Rocks...

Dan and Jordan were on board again for day two out of the Plantation on Crystal River and it was a good one. The father and son team caught a beautiful limit of gag grouper using live pin fish on the shallow rock piles. We fished the 10ft range and did quite well. A mixed bag of other species also came on board using live shrimp on Hank Brown jig heads. That's always a blast and you never know what the next drop will bring. I thank you both for two very memorable days and I look forward to seeing you guys again soon... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Reds & Gags...

Just about a mirror image to yesterday's Homosassa charter, but we did it again in Crystal River with Dan and Jordan. I picked up the team at the Plantation on Crystal River and we hit the outer keys for the hot red fish bite. The action was just as good as yesterday's, with double digit red fish coming on board. The guys requested some grouper as well, so I ran to some shallow ledges in the 10ft range. We sent down the pin fish and hooked up immediately. Some beautiful gag grouper came on board and they really topped out our day. I thank you both for the fun time and congratulations on a awesome catch... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Reds and Mix...

What a day for the red fish in Homosassa. The bite was spectacular today for my team and Donna, Chris and Tony did outstanding. I picked up the group from their home on the Homosassa River and we hit the points on the outer keys for the red fish. Every point we fished today produced red fish and free lined live shrimp under a DOA deadly combo corks worked beautifully. With plenty of red fish action under our belts, I ran to a couple shallow rocks and added a nice variety of grouper, grunts, mackerel and snapper to fill out our charter. A perfect day and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan

What a perfect day to run to the grouper grounds and Marilyn and David had a great day. We left from the Plantation on Crystal River, grabbed our live bait and made our run to 20ft of water. The gags were waiting and a combination of live pin fish and cut baits did the trick for the grouper. The team did a perfect job of bringing the grouper to the boat and added a nice variety of other species to fill out the day. It was a hot one though, so we called it a day after noon and we headed back to the dock. An absolute perfect day and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Offshore...

The day of all days to go offshore Homosassa with Bill and Larry on board we headed West. The team and I did try our luck at some red fish for a couple quick stops, but only came up with shorts; so we hammered down to grouper land. We reached the 20ft range and the bite was on. Bill and Larry caught a beautiful mix of grouper, snapper, hog fish and grunts to show for the their efforts. Some fantastic action on the offshore rocks piles and I thank you both for the fun day... Homosassa Inshore....

A good day back inshore out of the Homosassa Fishing Club today with Russel and Patrick on board fishing the Dodson party. The red fish bite was excellent for the morning hours on the out going tide and free lined live shrimp in the mullet schools called up the reds. We had to keep an eye on a pretty bad storm out to the West and it changed my offshore plans. As a back up, we added a couple trout to the mix and just afternoon; we prepared a Homosassa special shore lunch... Capt. Dan

A picture perfect day offshore Crystal River with Steve and Frank and all I can can say is "awesome". The bite was incredible in 20ft of water and one stop produced a limit of grouper, mangrove snapper, grunts and some bonus hog fish. The sea's were nice with a slight roll out of the South and it was a smooth ride to the grouper grounds. Live shrimp produced the snapper and live pin fish did the trick for the grouper. I thank you both for a great day and congratulations on your catch... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Gags...

Not the super hot bite I've been experiencing the last few days, but we hung in there and found the big ones. I had Steve and David on board out of the Plantation on Crystal River and the guys did awesome. The grouper bite was slow and I blame it on the terrible tides, we have for the next couple of days. We picked up a pair on the out going and when the afternoon incoming eventually started to come in; the gags lit up and we finished off our limit. Large quality live baits have been the trick and palm sized pin fish are working beautifully. I thank you both for the good time and here's Steve with today's big Crystal River gag grouper... Capt. Gags & Mango's....

An incredible day offshore Crystal River with Bill and Fred and these guys did outstanding. I began the day filling the live well from my pin fish trap and running to some shallow rocks. The shallow grouper bite was a bit slow with one keeper coming on board and a few battles with some bruiser sting rays "wow they can pull." The seas were perfect for an offshore ride, so our next stop was the 20ft range and it was on. The team quickly finished off their grouper limit in short order. After the gags, we sent down some live shrimp on knocker rigs and caught some of the largest mangrove snapper to date. The snapper bite was awesome and a great way to top off the day. Thank you both for the good time and happy birthday Bill... Capt. Dan
