Flats Class TV....

I just finished up shooting a great inshore episode of Flats Class TV with C.a. Richardson. The show will air in a couple weeks on Destination America channel, and it will showcase some of the great back country fishing we have here in Citrus County... Capt. Dan

ATS Group Trip...

A fantastic day inshore with the Advanced Turbine Support group out of the Plantation on Crystal River. Myself and fellow Homosassa Guides Association captains did well on the red fish and trout. My team of Brett, Rod and Mike had a double limit day with some fine red fish and quality trout. Live shrimp produced the red fish, while MirrOlure Lil' Johns tackled the trout. Some nice catches were brought back to the dock and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Dan

Reds & Gags...

A beautiful Saturday on the big pond with Marilyn and Dave and the team had a great day red fishing; plus picking up a pair of gags. We began the day from the Plantation on Crystal River and made our way to a couple outer keys and jumped right on the red fish. Free lined live shrimp worked beautifully on the red fish and the wind was calming down enough to troll up a couple grouper. We used Rapala CD 14's and trolled up a couple shorts, plus a pair of nice keepers. I always enjoy the day with you both and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Inshore...

A great time with Chuck on board out of Homosassa and did we ever have a red fish bite going on. Our first two stops were unbelievable and we must have caught over 30 red fish. A combination of live shrimp and MirrOlure Lil' John's, did the trick. Chuck had his red fish fill and we spent the rest of the breezy day, throwing cork rigs and catching seven nice keeper trout. Always a good time buddy and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Inshore....

I wouldn't say today was a cold front, but it was definitely the first stiff NE breeze of the upcoming fall season. I had the pleasure of having the North team on board and it was just to bumpy to go off for grouper. So, we played the inshore game and did very well. Red fish on the keys, and trout on the flats with cork rigs-we had a fun day. Watermelon red/fleck Lil' johns were the top producer for the trout and we picked up a couple of macks too. Thank you guys and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Offshore...

Another good one offshore Crystal River with Gil and Tommy and the guys had quite the day. We stopped inshore on the grass flats and loaded the live-well with fresh live pin fish. The next stop though, was 30ft and we had perfect conditions to do so. We arrived at our destination and the day was made. The guys had to work for the keepers, as we released numerous 22"-23" gags; but we eventually got'em - plus a limit of mangrove snapper. A beautiful day on the gulf and I look forward to next time... Offshore/Inshore...

A deep run today out to close to 40ft with Brian, Brad and Robert and these gentlemen had a killer day. The gulf was absolutely flat calm and we hammered down offshore. Our first drop was very productive. Big mangrove snapper and a couple keeper gags greeted us right away, plus a couple mackerel too. We moved around a couple times, but no more keeper grouper - the big snapper kept us busy though. With a good catch, we ran inshore, stopped on a key and caught a fine red fish and snook to wrap up an outstanding day. Thank you all so much and I really look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Well, today was the first day I gave trolling for grouper a try for the 2016 season. Ron, Dick and Larry were with me for the day and we did well. We started the day using Rapala x-rap 20's and immediately hooked up. The guys had a couple doubles and although most were on the short side, we did land a nice keeper gag. We left the grouper trolling, made a quick stop at a rock pile for some snapper and grunts; then finished the day inshore. Each of the guys caught a fine slot red fish, plus a couple shorties to wrap up the day. A fun time and I look forward to next time. Here's Dick with his first keeper gag grouper.. Capt. Dan

Day Two Slam...

It was day two with Chris and Scott on board and we just about duplicated yesterday's Crystal River charter. The guys were up for the challenge again, so we targeted all three species throughout the day. Red fish in the morning on the incoming tide, mid day trout on the flats with cork rigs; then plugging the creeks for a back country snook. The plan came together beautifully and here's Chris with a hefty, August full moon red fish... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Slam...

A wonderful day inshore with Scott and Chris and the guys had a fantastic inshore slam. The team began the day with some real good red fishing and a combination of live shrimp and pin fish, kept the rods bent on the red fish. Next up, we used DOA deadly combos off the keys and had some decent trout action and brought five keepers to the boat; plus releasing several shorts. We had a little time left to try for a snook and we hit one cove in the back country. The guys lucked upon a beautiful upper slot snook, that fell to a DOA glow jerk bait. A really fun day and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan
