Terrific action for us today and Harry and Mike had a busy day. I love my grouper and always glad to pull on a couple, but my goodness we just couldn't get past them to the hogfish and snapper. We must of literally released over 75 grouper today and broke off well over 20 - "lots of retying". A couple nice hog fish mad their way on board, but the bigger mango's were lock-jawed, as we only had shorts for the day. I thank you all a great job on turning those grouper on light tackle... Capt. Hello everyone, I know it's been a while but I'm back up and running and it sure was good to be back out today. The Young Boats restoration team did a tremendous job fixing my boat from the accident, and it looks good as new. For today's trip, I had Jason and Frank on board and we did something a little bit different. I took the guys down South in the 30ft range and we targeted mangrove snapper. I have to have the right conditions to do this and today is was perfect. Calm sea's and free lined live shrimp on a 1/8th oz jig head did the trick for us. We boated some beautiful snapper, released numerous gags and so many grunts I lost count. I thank you both and great job.... Capt. Dan

Hands down as rough as it gets to still do a grouper charter today and my team of Shane, Bart and Nathan were hanging in tough, to get it done. Well, the day started by pulling bait traps and heading West to troll a bit; but unfortunately it was just to rough to get it done - so we headed inshore. The inshore action was good with a limit of red fish, some sheepshead and trout; but I was itching to get back out to some grouper spots. I stayed shallow in 6ft to 8ft of water and the guys did great turning four really nice grouper in no time. It definitely was a challenging one today, but I thank you all and great job... Capt. Dan

A mix on the board today with the Sans team out of Crystal River and Toad, Rusty and Tony did great. I had a late take off due to some electrical issues, but got them resolved soon enough. We did a bit of red fishing and did well, while finishing up tackling a couple real nice gags. It was a bumpy one again and I'll sure be happy when the seas clam down a bit. Hello everyone and I first want to thank all of you that have checked in with me and sent prayers as I go through another bump in the road. I'm all healed up from my surgery and now I'm doing a couple cycles of chemotherapy. It's keeping me down a little bit, but we're going to get through it and keep on fishing. Today though, I was back on the big pond with Jason on board and we caught a mix of red fish, sheepshead, grouper and grunts. I had hopes in trying to tackle some snook, but the gusty East wind blew all the water out and made fishing the inside impossible. We dropped down on a couple ledges, released several sheepshead and found a pair of lower slot red fish on one of the outer points before we called it a day. Always a good time and it sure feels like spring out there... Capt. Dan

Today was just about as cold as it gets and where the fish will still bite. Dan, Lauren and Joe were the team and with the gulf at 52 degree's, it was "iffy" if we were going to get some sheepshead to bite. I made a run to some ledges and sure enough, we caught some fish right away. The bites we had were really small male sheepshead, but it was encouraging. The team ended up with six keepers and released some little guys for the day, before the approaching cold front chased us in. A pretty cold winter we've experienced so far and today was probably the coldest day yet. Ian, Michelle and Jeff were on board for the cold ride and with the gulf at 56 degrees, sheepshead were our plan. The bite was actually OK on a couple drops on the incoming tide, but when it turned to go out; it was over. Live shrimp on knocker rigs were our tackle of the day and a bonus tripletail, we picked up on the way in. I thank you all and great job... Capt. Dan

A great start to the new year with Jim, Larry and Dean and the guys had a good one. The grouper rods are put to bed until the season opens again, so for now it's mostly going to be a trout, sheepshead and a red fish world. I do enjoy this time of year as long as the cold fronts aren't to harsh. The sheepshead bite is still a bit early and usually in to February, it really gets going. The team today did very well jigging up the trout and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan

As I wrap up the sheepshead season today with the Worthington family, it sure was another good one. April brings warmer gulf water temperatures and it slows the sheepshead action down and I like to leave the rest of the fish to finish spawning and I'll see them next winter. I'm looking forward to more trout, cobia, triple tail, snook, and mackerel action - plus hopefully some early arrival tarpon in the coming weeks. Today though, we did do well with lots and I mean lots of little grouper, plus some nice sheepshead; but I had to really work for them. The rods did stay bent and I thank you all for the fun day... Bill, Phil and Frank sure got it done today and we had a great catch. The day started right off with Frank making a perfect cast to a 12lb triple tail and that warmed us up. The sheepshead bite was next as we did OK; but it's just about over and I believe tomorrow will be the last day I try for them. I jumped around a bunch to get the sheepshead and the team finished off the day with a fine catch of trout to wrap it up. Great job fellas and I thank you... Capt. Dan
