Offshore Crystal River...

The day of all days to go offshore and Bill, Henry and Steve hit it out of the park. I met the guys at 8am and we headed West. When I reached the mouth of the river it was like glass, so we made the run to 30ft. I anchored and the day was pretty much non stop action. Live shrimp on knocker rigs kept the rods bent and it was some fantastic fishing. We also caught some blue runners that we used as live bait and landed a 15lb gag grouper on one. It was one of those picture perfect days and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Offshore...

The perfect day to go offshore with Meredith and Blake for the day and the rods stayed bent. I took the couple to the 25ft range and dropped down live shrimp on knocker rigs. The bite was on and literally every drop produced a fish. We had a nice variety of species and a real beauty of a mangrove snapper too. The water was clear and seeing the fish swim around under the boat is always a treat. What A fun day and I look forward to doing it again soon... Capt. Dan

Jigging Trout...

Always a great time with the Coleman family and they brought a good friend Esther on board for the day. We spent the majority of the day offshore jigging the various grass patches and finding some good trout. Root beer holographic DOA shrimp and bourbon colored Lil' Johns were the baits of the day. The team caught a nice assortment of species and several of the trout were quality fish. To end the day on the incoming tide, we tried to find some slot sized red fish; but all were on the short side. I always enjoy the day on the water with you all and I look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan

Crystal River East Wind....

Yes folks, the East wind returned today and it was a 15mph breeze all DAY.... I had the pleasure of having the Worthington family on board and even though the inshore trout bite hasn't been to good, today we did quite well. We basically tucked up against the outer keys and made short drifts with DOA deadly combos and had a great catch of trout. The old stand by, the DOA glow shrimp was by far the top producer for us today. We also picked up a fine Spanish mackerel and Jeff brought in a beautiful red fish to end the day. I thank you all for the fun time and I look forward to next time.... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Mix...

A great day at the Homosassa Fishing Club with the Scott party and myself and fellow Homosassa Guides Association Captains Mark Zorn, Clay Shidler, Rick Spratt and John Hamilton did outstanding. Awesome trout catches across the board, and good mixes of sea bass, grunts, mackerel, grouper and sheepshead filled out the teams day. My group did very well and had a great variety. I thank you all for the fun day and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Ladies of the Gulf Variety...

An awesome day and an even better crew on board today. I had the pleasure of having the "Ladies of the Gulf" on board and we had a great mixed bag. Today's trip began drifting offshore a bit in about 6ft of water and jigging up some trout. In a couple of drifts, the team brought about a dozen beautiful trout to the boat, plus lots of lady fish keeping us busy as well. With a fine catch of Crystal River trout, our next stop was to anchor up and do some chumming. I picked one of my favorite rocks and we had plenty of variety. Free lined live shrimp in the chum slick kept us busy and I can't thank you all enough for the great day... Capt. Dan

Sheepshead Land...

One moire trip out to sheepshead land and we did excellent. I had the Cooper family on board and it was excellent. I fished a couple of my favorite ledges in the North country and it was good. I usually don' t fish sheepshead this late in the year, but this year has been excellent and might as well stay on them while the action is good. There still out there and a live shrimp on a knocker rig will keep the rod bent  "plus some gag grouper too". We ended the day with chumming up some mackerel and I can't thank you all enough for the great day. Here's the team with an excellent catch... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

Wow! What a beautiful day to go offshore and that's exactly what we did with Sarah and Randy on board. Once again, I made the run to the sheepshead grounds and the bite was just as good as yesterday's; but the size average was up a bit. The action was good and we even picked up a surprise snook on an offshore wreck in almost 20ft of water. With a fine catch of sheepshead, we anchored up and chummed up a few drag burning macks to wrap up the day. I thank you both for the fun time and congratulations on the outstanding catch... Capt. Crystal River Trout...

The bite was on before the front for us today and the trout were happy. I had my great regular clients, Clell and Lee on board and we worked the bars in Crystal Bay and caught some nice trout. We made a couple stops in the morning for a red fish and the guys caught six pretty quick, before the tide dropped out; but all the reds were on the short side. So, for the afternoon, we tackled the trout and also picked up some mackerel as well. An awesome day with lots of action and a great catch to show. I thank you both for the great day and always look forward to our next charter... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

A good mix in species today in Crystal River and we caught the first cobia of the season. I had Henry, Rich and John on board for the day and we began the day with a red fish on the line. The tide was running out hard so we couldn't stay to long, but did catch a nice keeper, a short and had a bruiser cut us off. For the rest of the day we targeted trout, mackerel and caught a bonus 31" cobia. The cobia wasn't quite a keeper, but it sure was good to see one. A really fun day and I thank you all for the great time.... Capt. Dan
