Inshore Rocks...

A good mix with Bart, Shane, Nick and Nathan on board and we sure had a fun time. The sea's were up a bit and couldn't go to far offshore, but we made it happen. We dropped down the shrimp on a couple different rock piles and stayed real busy on the out going tide. Some quality sheepshead came on board and had several come unbuttoned as well. We picked up a couple trout too and I thank you guys for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Sodium Tournament..

Hello everyone, it's been pretty tough getting trips in this week and I apologize for the weather we've been having. Today though, I was able to fish the Crystal River Sodium Fishing Gear tournament and had a blast. I don't get to fish by myself very often, but today I did and caught a lot of fish. I had a good day with over 30 keeper trout up to 21" and red fish to 25". I took my Silver King skiff and stayed busy just about all day. The wind was howling and made it challenging, plus the very low tide. I just couldn't find that big 5lb trout, but still fun all the same. Hopefully we'll get them next year and I'll see you all soon... Capt. Dan

Big Day...

Today was the day!!! Wow, was the bite ever good and it sure shows what can happen when the gulf warms up a bit. We reached the 60 degree mark today and it turned the sheepshead on that have been slow and the trout, which have been quiet. Larry, Lauren and Big Fish Bob did a terrific job and they kept the rods bent just about all day. It took me a little bit to find the trout but when we did, it was really good all in one small area. I thank you all and what a catch.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Gags & Trout...

Always a fun day with Dan, Lauren and Joe and they had a super day. Grouper were our first order of business and with great condition's, they turned some real nice ones. The guys secured a real nice limit and released a couple others too. We changed gears and jigged up a couple trout on the rock bars to fill out the afternoon and I thank you all. The upcoming weather forecast is not looking the best for the next couple of days, so I'll keep my fingers crossed in hopes of still being able to get out there... Capt. Dan

Uncle Phil's in Town...

Many of you have been following me for quite sometime and the second week of October, Phil comes to town. Well, today was day one and we had a blast. Grouper, red fish and trout filled out the day and he sure is fun to fish with. He brought along his family friend Chris today and they both tackled some fin gags. I went down South again and in short order we had a really nice limit. The weather improved greatly today and looks good for the weekend forecast. Phil has three more days on board, so we'll see what we can do... Cap. Dan

Monday Mix...

A mix on the board today with the Sans team out of Crystal River and Toad, Rusty and Tony did great. I had a late take off due to some electrical issues, but got them resolved soon enough. We did a bit of red fishing and did well, while finishing up tackling a couple real nice gags. It was a bumpy one again and I'll sure be happy when the seas clam down a bit. I thank you guys for everything today... Capt. Dan

Trout & Gags....

Always a super fun time with the Lent gang and Bill, Andy and Jim had a great one. We sent down live baits for the first couple hours of the day and the guys turned some nice grouper. Lots of action with shorts kept us busy and it was a blast keeping the rods bent. We put four nice gags on ice and tried our luck for the trout, but they were not to cooperative as we only had a couple. I thank you all as always and look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Windy Day...

I'm back on the big pond here in Crystal River and it was a good one with Dan, Lauren and Big Fish Bob. It was whipping out of the NE, so it wasn't a full time grouper day. We stayed off the keys most of the day with cork rigs catching some really nice trout. I did push out a bit, to a shallow ledge where we turned a couple gags and came back inshore to top off our trout limit. The guys did terrific and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

A great day to wrap up my month of June with Joe on board for an awesome mixed bag. Joe and I covered some ground today as we began tackling a fine limit of gags and a whopper cobia. Dropping down live pin fish got it done for us and really caught a lot of gags in the 23" range. We added a couple trout and to top off the day, we were blessed and boated a beautiful tarpon just under the hundred pound mark. What a day and great job Joe. As I write this I'm backing my bags and headed to Wyoming Monday morning. I'll be there the entire month of July and I'll do my best to post some updates and fishing reports. All the best and see you all soon.... Capt. Dan

Homosassa 1/2 Day...

We did the 10am to 2pm shift today for the Manriki group out of Macrae's in Homosassa with my great captain friends Mark Zorn and William Toney. I had the pleasure of having Jim, David and Terry on board and we did really well on trout. I haven't been doing much inshore fishing lately but from what I've heard, the trout bite has been slow. Well, I did what I felt was a good area and it was a great call. The team picked up eight real nice trout on cork rigs and bourbon colored Lil' Johns were the ticket. We left the trout flats picked up a couple red fish and it sure was a good time. We beat the afternoon rain storms by just a couple minutes, I thank you all we'll do it again next year... Capt. Dan
