The Fish!!!
You will catch Grouper, Sea Trout, Redfish, Snook, Cobia, Mackerel, Flounder, Ladyfish, Bonita, Kingfish, Snapper, Sharks, Seabass, And Jack Crevel. There is a huge variety of easily catchable fish off the coast of Crystal River and Homosassa.

Scalloping at its Finest Aug. 13th 2010
Wow, what a great day! The Masi family joined me for there first Crystal River scalloping experience. We loaded up in two places off St. Martins Keys, and had our 10 gallon limit around noon. The kids enjoyed seeing all the marine life and a big thanks to mom and dad for helping with the cleaning process. Here is the family with a cooler full and thanks for a fun day...Capt. Dan

Crystal River 1/2 Day Trout Aug. 12th 2010
I met a great family today at the Plantation resort on the Crystal River. Tina and her son, Chase, wanted to do some inshore fishing, so I recommended targeting trout. This species is a sure bet right now, so they said "lets go". It was a little rough and there were some storms around, so we stayed in the salt river area and fished the kelp beds and oyster bars. It was steady action all morning with my favorite go to bait, the DOA deadly combos in the glow color. Numerous shorts and a handfull of keepers made for a great busy morning. Tina has been fishing this area for many years and couln't remeber catching so many fish in such a short amount of time. That is a great complimment and I told her I was just doing my job. Thank you for a fun morning and I'll see you again on your next visit to Citrus County. Here is one of today's bigger trout... Capt. Dan
Prime Scallop Time Aug 10th 2010
Scallop season has been going on for several weeks now, but if you haven't gone yet, now is the time to go. The scallops have had time to grow and now the meat is much larger and less boat traffic makes for a more enjoyable day. I picked up Karen and her friend Mark from the Plantation resort on the Crystal River and off we were to the scallop grounds. We ran south of Homosassa again and it was easy pickins. The tide was out going and the low water made for perfect conditions. We kept about 4 gallons which was plenty for a meal and I gave them a memorable boat ride through the creeks on the way home. Thank you both for a great day and here is Karen with the first haul of scallops... Capt. Dan
Homosassa Redfish and Scallops Aug 7th 2010
I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club today for a 1/2 day fishing and scalloping charter. Myself and Captains Mark Zorn, William Toney, Charlie Harris, and Rick Spratt enjoyed a great day with the Tom West party from Atlanta. The tide was making high mid morning, so we all caught our redfish before noon and we finished up the day chasing down the scallops. We ran south of Homosassa several miles to get away from the scallop fleet and we loaded up. Each boat did fantastic and we were the top boat with almost seven gallons in just a couple hours. The storms were around once again and we called the day a little short. We all safetly came in Mason Creek and out ran the bad weather. We are all set to do it again tomorrow and here is Justin with one of the redfish of the morning, a beautiful 26" Homosassa redfish... Capt. Dan
Rain Storms, Groupers and a Tripletail Aug 6th 2010
I met Chris and Ron at Pete's Pier this morning and the guys requested some grouper for dinner. After our first charter a couple weeks ago, and getting our trout limit, the guys wanted something that pulled back a little more. We ran out the Crystal River and as we looked West, it didn't look good for going far offshore. After seeing so many quality grouper while diving in the shallow water a couple days ago, I knew we could catch a few. We fished the 10ft ledges and rocks piles and pulled out a couple keepers and a few shorts while dodging the numerous rain storms. A combination of threadfin herring and live pinfish were the bait of choice for the day. For a bonus, on the way back home I spotted a triple tail on a piece of structure and after a few attempts we got it in the boat. Triple tail are fine eating and something we don't catch on our everyday charters. Thanks guys for putting up with the tough conditions and here is Chris with his first keeper grouper... Capt. Dan
