The Fish!!!
You will catch Grouper, Sea Trout, Redfish, Snook, Cobia, Mackerel, Flounder, Ladyfish, Bonita, Kingfish, Snapper, Sharks, Seabass, And Jack Crevel. There is a huge variety of easily catchable fish off the coast of Crystal River and Homosassa.

Homosassa Happy 4th of July 2010
I had a 1/2 day charter out of Macrae's today on this busy holiday weekend. Lane, Terry and Lauren joined me for a fun couple of fish catching hours before the rains would chase us in. Today was one of Lane's first saltwater fishing experiences, so we kept is simple and fished around some rock piles to keep the action steady. Grouper, sea bass, snapper, grunts, ladyfish and a couple mackerel made for a great experience. A simple knocker rig and live shrimp was all we used to put a few keepers in the boat. Thank you for the great morning and hope you enjoy tonight's fish fry. I'll see you next time your in Homosassa and hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July... Capt. Dan

Scales and Shells July 3rd 2010
I was originally going to go solo today and catch a couple trout for a family fish fry. I got a call from some friends and asked if we could do some scalloping and and a little fishing. I gladly said yes and in just minutes from the boat ramp, we were catching trout. I have been running offshore for the majority of my charters but we tried a couple places inshore and did exceptionally well. Using DOA deadly combos in the holographic root beer was the ticket. After boating 5 keeper trout and numerous shorts, we ran to the scallop grounds and in a couple of stops we had enough for a trout and scallop dinner. Thanks to Todd and Cassie for the fun afternoon and look forward to seeing you again... Capt. Dan
Scalloping in The Rain July 1st 2010
I had a great family on board today for 1/2 day Crystal River scalloping charter. The sky's were a little dark to the west when we left Pete's Pier, but we didn't see any lightning and off we were. The scalloping as of late has been the most productive west of St. Martins Keys, and thats where we found them today. The shallow 3ft grass flats was the hot zone and in a couple hours we had close to 4 gallons of whole scallops to put in the cooler. The rain did make it to us, but nothing that we couldn't handle and we all had a great time. Thanks to Ed, Theresa, Monica and Alexandra for the fun day and here are today's scalloping Queens....
One More Limit June 27th 2010
To finish out this outstanding week, I had John on board out of Pete's Pier for a full day Crystal River charter. We spent the morning catching our trout limit and just having some good fishing fun. We ran to the 10ft grass patches and it was steady action all morning. Using a combination of DOA shrimp and CAL jigs we had our trout by noon. After our trout limit we ran to a rock pile in 15ft of water to find a grouper. Well, we did and we actually ran out of live bait. The only problem was they all averaged 20" to 21 1/2" and with the minimum size having to be 22" John wasn't able to add a grouper to this trout catch. We did have a great time catching the shorts and a 20" grouper pulls plenty hard and makes for a great fight. Thanks for the great day and hope you enjoy tonight's trout dinner... Capt. Dan
Chewin' Good in Crystal River June 26th 2010
The trout were in a feeding mood today. I had a 1/2 day charter out of Pete's Pier and Dave, Bill, John and Larry joined me for an outstanding morning. The river was crazy with the scalloping bunch, so we ran out salt river to avoid the mess. Our first stop offshore produced 5 keepers and plenty of shorts to keep us on our toes. The bite slowed a little and we ran quite a bit south to a new area I have been wanting to try. Well, I'm glad I did. It was steady keepers and very few shorts. The 1/8 oz chartreuse jig head on a DOA shrimp continues to be the top producer. The guys said they had plenty for dinner so we called it a day. I thank you all for the great time and here's today trout haul... Capt. Dan
