Crystal River 1/2 Day June 25th 2010
With a steady 10 mph SE breeze blowing today, the bite was on. I had Dan on board out of Pete's Pier for a 1/2 day of inshore action. We did a little bit of everything from chasing tarpon, catching trout and ending the day with a red fish. The tarpon were in the river and saw several rolling, but once again no takers, so we ran off shore and had no problem catching several trout, flounder, sea bass and a variety of other species. The tide was rushing in, so we ran to the keys and our first cast we had our red fish. It was a perfect morning and thanks Dan for all the good fishing information from up around the great lakes area. Look forward to your next visit to Florida and thanks for a great day... Capt. Dan
Crystal River Reports June 23rd & 24th 2010
The last couple of days have been a little tough. I had a grouper charter yesterday and the seas for the majority of the day made it difficult to run offshore. We did have a great day catching fish. Numerous short grouper, grunts and sea bass kept us busy, but only one keeper grouper made its way into the cooler (forgot my camera). The crew was feeling a little sick due to the conditions, so we called it a day, and we will give it another try when it cools down a little. Today I had Ron. Bruce and Gordon out of Pete's Pier for a fun day of catching trout. We left the marina at 8am and ran offshore to the deep grass patches and the bite was on. We caught short after short trout, but the keepers were a little hard to come by. We did manage 9 keepers today and I thank you guys for all your hard work. The DOA holographic root beer shrimp was the color of choice today. With no breeze and a slow incoming tide makes fishing a little tough this time of year. Here are the guys with there well deserved catch and thanks again... Capt. Dan
Limit of Reds and Trout June 22nd 2010
Another Crystal River Trout Limit June 21st 2010
The trout bite continues to be as hot as weather. I had Jim and Meao on board today out of Pete's Pier and the fishing was fantastic. We ran to the deeper grass patches and it was non stop action all day. Trout, grouper, lady fish, sea bass etc... were today's mixed bag. The combination of DOA holographic root beer shrimp and a camo gulps were the baits of the day. There were storms to the east and west, but none of them made it our way. Thank you both for a great charter and look forward to this fall when we will go troll up a grouper or two. Here is today's catch... Capt. Dan
