First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I apologize for the lack of up dates, we all know how busy the holidays are. I have been on the water numerous days and this is whats been going on. Fishing has been a little tough the last two weeks; however, I'm still catching plenty of fish on every charter. High NE winds and extreme low tides make it a challenge, but you take what mother nature throws at you and this is when being born and raised on these rivers really benefits. The Crystal and Homosassa Rivers are full of lady fish, jacks and mangrove snapper. These species have saved the day when it has been to rough to go outside the safety of the river. We have been catching several trout in the river as well, not a cooler full of keepers, but enough for a meal or two. On yesterday's charter out of Crystal River (Dec. 28th) we experienced extreme gusty NW winds and high tides. These tides allowed us to target redfish deep in the backcountry of Ozello. We saw several schools and caught a few. I was very pleased considering the wind chill factor was in the mid 40's. Here is Brian with his first redfish. Thank you, Brian and Barney for the great time and all my clients over the last two weeks. Also, another thank you for all that have attended my recent seminars at Gander Mountain in Ocala.... Stay warm and Good Fishin'... Capt. Dan
