High Winds, Trout and Reds April 8th 2010 Featured

P4080068Despite the extremely rough conditions, the fishing was pretty good today. I had DJ and Dave from Maine on board today for a full day inshore charter. The trout bite was consistent throughout the entire day, numerous shorts and several keepers kept us busy. The DOA cal glow shad under a deadly combo cork continues to be very productive right now. We had a great mid day high tide, and to get a break from the wind we went back deep into the creeks and found good numbers of redfish. We boated 11 redfish, but only 1 made it into the slot. Fellow Crystal River Fishing Company Captains Mark Zorn and Kyle Messier were in the creeks as well and at the dock they also reported a good day targeting redfish.
