Big Crystal River Trout June 17th 2010 Featured

P6170254It was a little bit of a slow day today out of Crystal River, but we stuck to it and found some big gator trout. I met Lauren and Matt at Pete's Pier, and we ran to the deeper flats where the bite has been fantastic. We caught numerous shorts and a mixed bag of other species, but the keepers were just not biting on the long outgoing tide. Just after noon the tide finally started coming in and the combination with the west wind and tide turned the trout on. We had three in the 20" class and one hefty trout at 23". We kept seven for dinner and the holographic root beer DOA shrimp did it again for us. Thanks for the fun time and here is Lauren with her hefty gator trout... Capt. Dan
