Chewin' Good in Crystal River June 26th 2010 Featured

P6260290The trout were in a feeding mood today. I had a 1/2 day charter out of Pete's Pier and Dave, Bill, John and Larry joined me for an outstanding morning. The river was crazy with the scalloping bunch, so we ran out salt river to avoid the mess. Our first stop offshore produced 5 keepers and plenty of shorts to keep us on our toes. The bite slowed a little and we ran quite a bit south to a new area I have been wanting to try. Well, I'm glad I did. It was steady keepers and very few shorts. The 1/8 oz chartreuse jig head on a DOA shrimp continues to be the top producer. The guys said they had plenty for dinner so we called it a day.
