Crystal River Reds, Short Trout....

Written by
A quick red fish bite this morning for John and Brian, but the keeper trout were non existent. We left from Pete's Pier Marina just before 9am, ran out to the keys and fish on! The guys caught a nice pair of slot sized red fish in a matter of minutes and I said lets go find some trout (so I thought). We tried several places inshore and caught plenty of under slot trout, but I was cursed and couldn't produce a keeper today. The winds finally calmed around noon but by then, it was time to head in from our 1/2 day charter. I thank you guys for all your hard work and we'll find those trout next time. Here's Brian with his first red fish... Capt. Dan
