Crystal River, Reds Picking Up....

Written by
The red fish action was much better than it has been over the last few trips and today's group caught some nice ones. I had Eric, Andrew and Jim on board for the day out of Pete's Pier Marina for a full day inshore Crystal River charter. The morning began to a steady incoming tide and we found some quality red fish. We did have to move around some and they weren't on any one key. Free lined live shrimp was the bait of choice. Our next stop was trying to get a good trout bite going. (If your planning on targeting trout anytime soon, I suggest running to at least 10ft of water if the weather allows). We caught a couple keepers inshore, but the conditions were a little to bumpy to run offshore to where the action is. We had a nice catch and the gang had a great time. Here's Andrew with his big red fish of the day... Capt. Dan
