Homosassa Variety...

We covered the whole spectrum from inshore to offshore with Jason and Mike on board for the day. I picked up the father and some team at Macrae's and we began back in the creeks hooking in to some nice snook, trout and red fish. I put the trolling motor down and we eased along targeting the points with DOA jerk baits. The guys caught a fine inshore slam, plus some for the morning hours. The tide dropped out, and we trekked offshore for more fun and more species. Cobia, grouper and grunts bent the rod for the afternoon and it was an fantastic day. Thank you both so much.... Capt. The boys from the East side of the county were on board and Bart, Danny and Shane were the team for the day. I made the run to 9ft of water to some grass patches and we jigged out way to a fine catch of trout. The trout are on small isolated grass patches, but when you find them; they are really concentrated. We made about 4 drifts and the guys had their limit. Next up, we caught and released some gag grouper and brought home a couple fine triple tail to end the day. Always a great day with you all and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Offshore Fun...

It was one of those special days offshore and there was "NOT" a ripple on the gulf. I had the pleasure of having Ann, Ashley, and Kim on board and these ladies had a ball. I took them to some offshore locations and let them pull on some big gags. The grouper bite was good as it could be and we caught some real nice one's reaching 16lbs. I mixed it up a bit as well, and also found a couple cobia and triple tail for the day. Ann represents "Settin the Hook" clothing line and please check them out on facebook. It's great and I thank you all for the awesome time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Heavy Weight...

One more day with a fine mixed catch with Joe and Joann on board and on today's trip, we made our way offshore a bit. The cobia run is in full swing, so I ran to some of my favorite haunts and we did very well. We hooked four cobia, landed 2 and also over a dozen keeper sized gag grouper. Live pin fish was the bait of the day. For the afternoon hours, we added some trout and triple tail to the total and I thank you both for a great day. Here's the couple with a fine cobia, well over the 30lb mark... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Rocks...

A little different game plan today and we made a run offshore and fished the rocks. I had the pleasure of having Dan, Alex and Brian on board visiting for spring break and we kept the rods bent today. There wasn't much water to work with for red fish, but the team picked up a quick keeper before it got to dry. Next up, I made a run to 17ft of water and we had steady action with grouper, mackerel, grunts, blue runners etc.... Live shrimp on knocker rigs and also some free lined did the trick. A couple trout filled out the afternoon and we beat the rain in, just in time. A great day and I thank you all so much for the fun time. Here's Alex with one of today's grouper... Capt. Dan

Spring Trout...

Another beautiful day on the big pond with Lauren, Gary and Dan and the team had an excellent trip. I began the day on the 2.3 ft tide we had in the morning in hopes of red fishing, but it was NOT happening. After several stops and nothing, we headed to the flats and got on the trout. We fished DOA jerk baits in the shallow areas and MirrOlure Lil' Johns a bit offshore in the 7ft range. The guys caught a little variety with some grouper, sea bass and mackerel to fill out the afternoon. I really enjoy my days with you all and congratulations on a fine catch... Capt. Dan

A fun day and a good variety with my great friends Mishel and Earl out of the Plantation on Crystal River. We did a little mix today of trolling for grouper and back country red fish and trout. The grouper bite was off a bit, but we caught a nice 25" gag that posed for a quick photo before we sent her home. Next up on the incoming tide, we free lined some shrimp on the rocky points and did well on the red fish and trout. We released seven reds, a couple trout and another great day out of Crystal River was in the books. I always enjoy my days with you both and thank you for fun time... Capt. Dan

Catch & Release Gags...

After almost four days of being blown off the water from another aggressive cold front, I was able to get back to work today. Mishel and Earl were on board for the day and the couple were ready for some catch and release grouper action. I haven't been offshore in quite sometime and we made our run to 28ft of water. The gulf water temperature was right at 60 degrees, which is on the low end for when grouper bite; but they were on the feed today. We had excellent action both trolling and bottom fishing. The bottom fishing bite was spectacular and we caught well over thirty grouper, using mostly live shrimp. We took some great pictures and watched them all swim away unharmed. A beautiful day and I thank you both for the outstanding trip... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Inshore...

A very fun day with Nick and Mary out of Crystal River and today's plan was staying inshore due to the wind being up a bit. The incoming tide was perfect this morning for both targeting trout and red fish and the action was good. DOA glow jerk baits over the rock bars produced the trout and free lined live shrimp in the mullet schools put us on the red fish. We kept ten trout and released all the slot red fish, just taking pictures of them. The wind eventually calmed enough to make it offshore some, but the big sheepshead did not want to play for us in the afternoon. However, the small gag grouper were on the feed and we caught plenty. A great day and I look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan

A different game plan today and I ran south of Homosassa and tried my way south numbers with Johnny and Lloyd on board. We made our trek to the 20ft range and wow, were the grouper ever on fire. Despite the 53 degree water temp, the gags were keeping us busy all day. We eventually caught some fine sheepshead, numerous grunts and I had hoped for some hog fish; but only one under sized one bent our rod today. We had a great time and I hope to do it again with you guys soon... Capt. Dan
