On the Water....

So good to be back on the water and Becky and I were able to tackle some gags for a couple hours. I have a little break in my medical schedule right now and I'm feeling good enough to spend a few hours on the water. Today we loaded the rods with Rapala F-18 plugs and we cast to some rocks, for about 10 gags or so. We had a couple keepers, kept one for dinner and really had a nice time. I'll see you on the water soon... Capt. Dan

Sunday Flounder & Gags...

Another hot one! I fished this Sunday with David and JP on board and we fished the morning out going tide. The grouper seem to like the falling water latley and sure enough, we caught some nice ones. I targeted both ledges and rock piles and both produced well and we even picked up a pair of flounder. The tide stopped around noon, we had some fine grouper and we called it a day. I thank you both and great job... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Surprise....

A really fun trip with Kevin, Ayindae and John and these guys are a riot. Grouper was requested, so we ran offshore a bit and fished in the 12ft to 15ft depth of water range. The guys did good getting a keeper or two on a couple stops until the tide quit. The big surprise and a first for me, was catching a red snapper in 12ft of water. It was pretty cool to see one way inside like that and who knows, there maybe more coming. I thank you all and look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Gags...

We stayed up front today with the Millennium Metals team and did well. There was a good rain band just offshore and it produced some cloud cover, which was very much appreciated. I set up on a couple ledges with the outgoing tide and the guys turned a fine limit of grouper. Once again live baits were the deal for us and you all did a great job... Capt. Dan

South Grouper....

Good to be back out on the big pond and Chuck and Tim were my guests today. I had hopes on making today a mangrove snapper trip, but it turned in to some good grouper and a couple hogfish day. We did catch some mango's, but they were on the short side. The gags hit the pin fish on bottom rigs and we caught 5 hog fish with one making it to the keeper size. A good trip and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Grouper....

Always a fun time with Todd and Tony and the guys had a pretty good grouper day. The day started with a pretty stiff East wind and it was pretty bumpy out there up until noon. The fish weren't super aggressive and it was a keeper or two a spot, with some quality fish though for July. The guys did a great job turning them and live pinfish was our bait of choice. Look forward to next time as always.... Capt. Dan

Jacks Gags....

Good to be back out after a couple weeks of dealing with some medical issues and had some fabrication work done on the boat. Today I had the Thomas party on board and the deal was for Jack to catch his first keeper gags. Well, we accomplished the plan, but the bite was quite slow. Dirty water from two weeks of a West wind and just plain hot, with the gulf at 88 degrees does make for some tough fishing. Still we had fun, caught a few and I thank you all for the great day... Hot Gags...

Pretty toasty out there on the big pond here lately and the gulf temp is 88 degrees too. We really need some rain to cool it down a bit, but the grouper are still biting. You have to move around and get a fish or couple fish here and there and that's just what the Algore team did this Saturday. The guys turned some quality fish and we stayed in the 35ft of water range. Live pinfish were the deal and great job fellas... Capt. Dan

A family day today and I sure was proud of my bride. Becky accomplished one of the toughest games in town and landed her first permit. I've been seeing this school for a while and they sure are spooky. So we set up way up tide, and slowly trolled in to them. A perfect cast in the school and we were hooked up. A great fish, some good pictures and it was released to fight another day. We ended the afternoon with a fine limit of gags and called it a day.... Capt. Dan

Quick Stop Gags....

One stop shopping for Jim and Matt today and we made quick work of the grouper bite. I took the guys out to 17ft of water, dropped down the pins fish and in 5 baits, four keepers came on board. Good quality fish in the 25" to 26" range and they were happy campers. A fun day and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan
