Hot Grouper...

Hot December grouper action today for John and Mark and we poked around the 30ft mark. The tide was running pretty good today, so we had to use 4oz leads to keep the baits down. Well that worked beautifully and the grouper bite was as good as you could hope for. Lots of good quality gags filled out our day and we even released several keeper fish in the 10lb range. Great job fellas and look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Gags...

It was day two with Mishel and Earl on board and they sure had a good one today. I took the team down South towards Homosassa and the grouper action was really good. I fished the 25ft depth range and on three stops, we caught several keepers and well over 30 shorts. Dropping live pin fish was the deal for us and you both did great. I thank you both for two fun days. Here's Earl with one of our four keepers of the day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Groupers....

Always a fun day with Mishel, Earl and Jason and the team did a terrific job. We bounced around from 8ft of water and finished up in 22ft. The bite was good with lots of under sized gags and some fine keepers mixed in as well. A combination of casting plugs and dropping live baits did the trick and I thank you all for the fun day... Family Day...

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We sure did and to top it off; today was our annual grouper day where my wife and I get to go out and grab a couple gags. The day started out pretty bumpy, but around mid morning, calmed right down. Becky and I went plug casting today, something I don't get to do very often on Charters and we had a blast. We stayed in the 7ft range and had some good action. Rapala F18's were the deal and fire-tiger was "THE" color. We teamed up, put four nice ones in the box and wrapped up the day with some grouper goodies for us... Capt. Dan

Perfect Weather Grouper....

Picture perfect grouper weather for the boys today and a good chop was on the water to get the fish fired up. Well, that's exactly how it was; the gags were fired up. I stayed close to 30ft of water and every singe bait produced a grouper. We had a real nice limit in no time and a smooth ride in. Tomorrow arrives another pretty good front and I'll be dealing with the insurance company from Fridays adventure. Soon as the weather breaks, I'll try to get in a couple more days to wrap up the grouper season. Awesome day fellas.... Capt. Dan

Sunday Gags...

I took the team of William, Whit and John down south today and the guys did really well. We were originally scheduled to fish Saturday, but the conditions were not favorable to grouper fish and I was able to move them to Sunday. I reached about 17ft of water and the bite was really good. Lots of action with smaller gags and some big bites too - getting a nice six fish limit. You all were awesome and thank you for the fun day... Capt. Dan

The weather wasn't to nice, but the fishing sure was great. Today I had the pleasure of having the Elrod family on board and they sure did awesome. I had a weather window to make things happen and even though we got rained on pretty good, the gags were biting well. The couple turned four nice ones and we headed back to the Plantation on Crystal River. The day was perfect until driving home and a young lady lost control of her car and hit my truck, boat and trailer. So.... I'll be dealing with all that mess in the coming weeks, but it does look like everything is still usable until the end of grouper season. Then we'll work on repairs... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Grouper...

Perfect weather and clean water for John and Nelson on board today. I took the the guys up North and they sure did well. They secured a fine limit of gags and even released some real nice fish too. I moved around from various ledges and rocks and all produced well, using live baits. I thank you both and so glad you finally had a great weather day... Capt. Dan.

30ft Mark...

Nice weather again and I pushed out to the magic 30ft mark for our success. Larry and Sarah were my guests and they did really well. I made five stops inshore and unfortunately, we didn't have a bite. We put on our coats and 14 miles later, it was fish on. Four baits, four keepers and the day was made. A great time and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

Way South Gags...

A good trip with the Sandhs team as we made our way down South. The conditions were absolutely beautiful today and is was a smooth ride out to 30ft of water. We jumped around from rock to rock with getting action on each drop, but nothing hot and heavy. A couple keepers on each spot was plenty though and we soon filled out our six fish limit. We added a nice tripletail and a couple mango's to finish the day. Great job team... Capt. Dan
