Back at the Homosassa Fishing Club today with Captains Zorn, Spratt, Toney and Long and we fished the Stribling party. I had the pleasure of having Vivian, Lucy and Frank on board and with orders to catch enough fish for a shore lunch, we ran offshore shore to find some good eats. My crew did fine catching some nice sheepshead, sea bass and grunts; plus a couple grouper to fill out the morning. We had to be back to the club island by 1pm and our famous shore lunch was excellent. I thank you all for the fun time and here's my crew with some of their catch just before it went in the skillet... Capt. Dan

Today the weather cooperated nicely and we were able to get the annual Homosassa Guides Association/Homosassa 5th Grade elementary school fishing trip in. This is a fun and educational yearly field trip and all of us with the guides association volunteer a day to teach our younger generation the environment around the water ways. I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Edwards class on board and my lady anglers did fantastic. From catching lots of snapper and lady fish, to seeing various birds, manatees and other marine life; it was a great day. Everyone in the group caught plenty of fish and this year was another success. I thank the school system for allowing us to show these anglers a great time and look forward to next years event... Well, today's header pretty much sums up the weather conditions for the day. Ice on the boat in the morning, a cold 15mph NE wind and a much warmer afternoon. Phil was my guest today from Pennsylvania and after having to cancel the last two days from this last cold front, it's always great to be back on the water. The morning for us was quite slow and did I mention "cold" - and really, the fishing didn't get going until after noon. The conditions were improving through out the afternoon and allowed us to made a run offshore. The sheepshead action was very good and we caught some beautiful sheepshead and other mixed species. To finish up the afternoon, we targeted some shallow oyster bars and caught some hefty trout on DOA glow colored jerk baits. I thank you Phil for the great time and look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan

A memorable and special charter with Lisa, Gary and Travis on board out of Crystal River today. Today's charter was a little different as we did some fishing and a memorial service to remember Lisa's parents. It was a breezy day in the gulf, with a steady 15mph wind and I was a little worried about the conditions. We eased out of the Crystal River and used the oyster bars to our advantage to block down some of the chop. The gulf water temperature had risen to 68 degrees, so I tied on some DOA deadly combo cork rigs, MirrOlure Lil' Johns and began drifting up some trout. The trout bite was great despite the conditions and we totaled over twenty trout, with nine of them making it to the keeper size. None of the trout were harmed in today's charter and all were safely released to fight another day. We had our service and I thank you all for the great time. I look forward to seeing you again in the future and here's Lisa with one of today's trout... Capt. Dan
