P7180637Today was about as good as it gets for a 1/2 day charter and Tim and Larry had a cooler full. We met at Pete's Pier, ran offshore to the rocks and it was fish on. Grouper, grunts, snapper, mackerel, jacks, sheepshead etc... were on the feed and it was non stop action for the the last of the out going tide. Once again, just live shrimp on a jig head was the bait of choice. The only down side of the day was when the tide turned to come in, the bite completely stopped, and that was pretty much it. I thank you guys for the fantastic day and I look forward to seeing you again. Enjoy tonight's dinner... Capt. Dan

P7170633A great mixed bag today on the North side of Crystal River. Mishel and Earl met me at Pete's Pier and fishing the last couple hours of the outgoing tide, the bite was on. We anchored up, and immediately landed a mixed bag including red fish, snook, flounder, black drum, mangrove snapper and a bonus cobia. Just a simple rig of live shrimp on a jig head was today's bait of choice. The conditions were excellent and a cool NE breeze made for a comfortable morning. Thank you both for a great 1/2 day charter, and I'll see you soon. Here is Mishel with her Crystal River snook... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Rocks. July. 15th 2011

P7150629With yesterdays success, I continued fishing the rock piles and ledges and had another awesome day. The stiff west breeze we have had for the last two days calmed and made our offshore run easy. Jason and Deanna met me at Pete's Pier this morning and with a hundred and fifty shrimp, we were offshore to the rocks. Just using live shrimp on a 1/8oz jig head we caught snapper, grouper, flounder, grunts, mackerel, sea bass, sharks, and even a look down. There was no shortage of gag grouper and we released well over twenty on just two different structures. We had plenty of fish for a couple meals, so we ran in, made a quick stop at Sandy Hook to cool off and called it a day. Thank you both for an outstanding day, hope to see you soon, and enjoy your catch being prepared at Pecks in Ozello... Capt. Dan

Having Fun... July. 14th 2011

P7140623Today's mission was to keep my new young friend Dakota hooked up on some fish. I met Gary, Rob and Dakota at Pete's Pier and with breezy conditions, we stayed close to shore and caught a mixed variety. Grouper, snapper, mackerel, sea bass, and grunts made for some fun action on the shallow ledges. We had a couple keeper snapper, sea bass and Dakota had a count of 24 fish for his day of fishing. We made a couple drifts for some trout and picked up three keepers and a couple shorts to finish out our 1/2 day Crystal River charter. The big news for the day, was when we had close to a 12ft tiger shark next to the boat for several minutes. This was by far the largest shark I've encounter here in my life time of fishing here off Citrus County. Thanks guys for the fun day and here is Dakota and his dad Rob with a double header grouper catch... Capt. Dan
