Homosassa 1/2 Day May. 19th 2011

P5190533It was day two for the Austin party at the Homosassa fishing club and we had a great 1/2 day charter. I had Dan and Bart on board and for steady action, we ran offshore to kept the rods bent. Trout, mackerel, blue fish, sea bass, flounder and numerous sharks made for a fun morning. We didn't have a bunch of keepers, but the fast action made up for it. DOA shrimp in the holographic watermelon color and a few gulp shrimp were today's flavors. Thanks guys for the great morning and look forward to seeing you again next time... Capt. Dan
P5180529The winds finally calmed down and it was a picture perfect day out of Homosassa. I had Jeff, Rite and Allen on board and the guys had a non stop fish catching day. We ran offshore to the 8ft depth range and using DOA holographic root beer shrimp, the guys caught numerous sea bass, trout, lady fish, blue fish, sharks etc.... It was cast after cast action, but the tide was making high, so we ran inshore to the creeks to find a red fish. We found a couple keepers free lining some live shrimp and the day was a success. Here's the crew with a couple of the trout and red fish from today's trip. Thanks and hope to see you soon... Capt. Dan

Windy, Rough and Rain May. 14th 2011

P5140527Not the best fishing conditions today out of Homosassa, but we managed to have a fun day. I had Ed on board out of the Homosassa Fishing Club and despite the tough conditions, he caught his limit of trout and reds. Myself and Captains Mark Zorn and Rick Spratt were on the trip as well and put the clients on a mixed catch of trout, mangrove snapper and red fish. We pulled up to the shore lunch island just before 1pm and quickly prepared lunch. We just had enough time to eat and then the rain squall line came upon us. Wind gusts over 50mph and heavy rain was a sight to see, but we all weathered the storm safely. Thanks to the whole group for the memorable time and here's is Ed with his catch... Capt. Dan

P5130518A Crystal River shore lunch special! Myself and fellow Homosassa Guides Association Captains, Gary Cox, Todd Corneillie, Don Chancey and Jim Long prepared an outstanding shore lunch on shell island at the mouth of the Crystal River. We picked up our party from the Plantation Inn and I had Bob, Jacob and Jeff on board. My crew did great on catching some beautiful trout and with DOA shrimp in hand, they had their lunch covered. We ran offshore and fished the deeper grass patches in the 10ft range and the guys put 7 keepers in the cooler, along with a few sea bass and a silver trout to fill out the morning. We arrived at the island just afternoon and everyone experience the whole spread of hush puppies, baked beans, fried fish, and cole slaw. Thanks everybody for the fun time and the cocktails back at the Plantation Tiki Hut. We all look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan
