A tricky start to this mornings charter and the Peregrine family was very patient with me as we dodged some storms. We left from Macrae's on the Homosassa river just after 7am and unfortunately, we really couldn't get where we wanted to until after 11am. Two big storm cells slowed us down and with all the down time, we lost the red fishing tide. However, the trout bite was pretty decent off St. Martins Keys. Lots of action with primarily under slot trout, but we managed several keepers through out the mix to end our day strong. I thank you guys for all your patience and enjoy tomorrows nights fish fry... A windy, but fun 1/2 day charter today out of Crystal River and Becky and Ron found a couple real nice red fish. We left from Pete's Pier Marina just before 8am and made a run to the back country creeks. The tide was rushing out and we only had enough time to fish a couple points. On stop number two, we found a matching pair of red fish that fell to some free lined live shrimp. We made a long run across the bumpy bay to the spoil islands and picked up another keeper to end our morning trip. I thank you both for the wonderful time and here's some happy smiles and red fish... A fine day out of Crystal River with the Platz family and friends again and the group did great. We spent most of the day using MirrOLure Lil' John jigs on the spotty bottom areas in 10ft of water for our mixed bag of species. Numerous trout, lady fish, sharks, sea bass, silver trout, mackerel, etc... kept our rods bent and it's always a fun time with all the different kinds of species. Around 1pm the tide was getting right to target red fish, so we hit the creeks. Free lined live shrimp around the rocky points produced for us today, and the red fish ended the day with a bang. I thank you all for the great day and enjoy all the fillets... Capt. Dan

A great run today offshore with Tony, Donna and Chris on board for some grouper action. We left from Pete's Pier Marina at 8am and our first stop was loading up on a live well full of pin fish. The pin fish trap was full today, so there wasn't any extra time needed to hook and line some more. We were offshore bound with pleasant seas and reaching the 30ft depth range, we caught some nice gag grouper. The full moon that's upon us usually isn't the best time to target grouper, but big live baits will usually get them to cooperate. An awesome end of the day bonus was trolling up a 70lb Goliath grouper on 30lb line to give Tony and Donna a great tug of war. I thank you all for the fun day and here's today's crew with their catch... Capt. Dan
