It was another hot one today offshore Homosassa and we caught a nice mixed bag of Cobia, grouper, sea bass and trout. Bill, Christy and Andy joined me today out of Macrae's and we were offshore bound to find some hard fighting grouper. We made a quick stop at the Bonnie the bait lady to fill the live well full of pin fish to start our day and our next stop was anchoring up on some ledges and fighting some grouper. The grouper action was good in the 17ft range and another nice cobia surprised us for an added bonus for our trip. While offshore we also tried for some deep water trout and caught quite a few, but only one keeper was added to the mix. I thank you all for the fun time and sticking it out in the hot conditions. Here's Christy with her first cobia and congratulations... Capt. Dan
It was a great feeling to anchor up once again, send down some live pin fish and watch the rods double over. Today was my first of many upcoming charters for the gag grouper season and Bill and Sheena started it off with a bang. I picked the couple up from their home on the river and started the day filling the live well with an assortment of frisky baits. Our next stop, was anchoring up on some shallow ledges and the grouper were on location waiting. We caught several gags and lost a few heavy weights that we just couldn't turn around in time; and they broke off. Bill had a good fish on and to our surprise a beautiful keeper cobia was on board as an added bonus. The offshore bite was the best today and our couple of stops inshore produced only a few fish with the extreme high flood tide. I thank you both very much for the fun day and always look forward to our future charters... Capt. Dan
Today was the busiest day on the waters here in Citrus County, with the opening of scallop season and also gag grouper season. To say the river was crowded is an understatement, but that didn't slow our group down at all. I had Darren and Richard on board today from the Homosassa Fishing Club and the trout bite was just as good as when we left them yesterday. Using DOA holographic watermelon shrimp and root beer colored MirrOlure Lil' Johns, we had very steady action all morning until we called it a day and ran to the club island for shore lunch. Lunch was great and I thank the entire group and my good friends Capt. William Toney and Capt. Mark Zorn for the good times as always. Here's Richard with a trout to be proud of, a true Homosassa gator trout... Capt. Dan

The red fish bite was tough today on the points out of Homosassa, but the inshore trout bite was fantastic. I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club today with Captains Mark Zorn and William Toney and today's group was great. I had Doug and Darren on board and we put our time in looking for red fish, but only came up with one keeper and a under slot to show for our efforts. For a change of pace we surrendered to the uncooperative red fish, and found some great trout action off St. Martin's Keys. Using DOA holographic watermelon shrimp, my crew had their limit of trout and released a few others. It was a picture perfect day day and I thank you guys for the fun time. Here's Darren and Doug with their catch... Capt. Dan
