PB230275Another big red fish surprise today! I met Kevin, Brooke and Josh this morning down the river at a house they were enjoying for the Thanksgiving holiday. We started the day catching some great upper slot trout; with a couple over the 20" mark. We ended with 8 keepers in the cooler using the DOA cal glow shad tail jigs. The full moon tides have been here for the week and usually create a short bite window. Usually you have to catch them quick while the fish are feeding. Today was one of those cases and when the trout turned off they were done. Next, we ran offshore to troll up a grouper. The grouper bite was a little slow and took a while to get them going. However, we did find a couple keepers and a monster red fish found a Rapala x-rap irresistible. This was a surprise catch and especially in 20ft of water. Kevin did a great job playing the fish and it was his biggest to date. Thank you all for the memorable day and outstanding job on all the fish species. I'll see you next time... Capt. Dan

PB220271Today was one of those magical days when everything was just perfect. I met Dave and Kit at Pete's Pier this morning and we left the dock in search of some trout. We arrived at our destination and the trout were waiting for us. It was fast and furious action and two and three on at a time; it was great. In no time we had our trout and with the seas slick as glass, I said lets troll up a grouper. We arrived in the 20ft range and just like yesterday, the grouper were on fire. The shorts were very active and it took a little while to get the keepers, but they eventually found there way on the end of the line. What next, the tide was ideal for red fishing, so the guys were game for trying to find a red fish. We caught a few shorts and then found a couple hefty upper slot fish. Live shrimp under a cork was the bait of choice. I want to thank you both for one of the best charters I have ever had and very few anglers have accomplished what you did today. I look forward to our next trip and enjoy the fillets... Capt. Dan
PA220190Perfect seas, no floating grass, water temperature in the low 70's and hungry grouper. We had ideal conditions trolling for grouper and we found them. I met Dave, Spencer and Rob at Pete's Pier this morning and we were offshore bound. We ran offshore to the 20ft range and had great action all day. The short grouper kept us busy for the morning, but once the sun got up a little the big boys were on the line. The Rapala x-rap 20's in the fire tiger was today's top plug. The guys have never trolled for grouper and after today they are sold on the technique. Thanks for the fun time and look forward to seeing you in the future...Capt. Dan
PA210188Another outstanding charter out of Crystal River! I met Bart and Murray at Pete's Pier this morning for a full day of inshore fishing. We started out the day targeting trout on the 3ft to 5ft grass flats and the bite was on. A combination of stark naked, holographic watermelon and root beer DOA shrimp under a deadly combo cigar cork was all we needed to put them in the boat. After our good catch of trout we tried a couple points for some red fish and landed 9, but all were in the 15" to 17" range. It's great to see the abundance of smaller fish for the upcoming red fish stock and the future fishery is looking good. Thanks guys for the great day and here is today's catch...Capt. Dan
