We had an early taste of fall this morning going out the Crystal River and what a welcomed surprise. A very pleasant cool morning and I had the Platz family on board to enjoy it. Once we reached the mouth of the river, we ran south and began the morning catching a few trout. Plenty of shorts kept us busy, but we put a couple keepers in the cooler while we were waiting for the tide to get right to find a red fish. Around 11am we began working the outer points and the red fish were there. Using cut baits and live shrimp we totaled 9 red fish with several in the slot, a few under the slot and one just over the 30" mark. It was the perfect day with a great family and fantastic fishing. Thank you all for the fun time and here is Richard with the big red fish of the day... Capt. Dan
Windy conditions out of Crystal River today, but we had one outstanding red fish bite. Having three John's on board out of Pete's Pier marina, we made the best of the condtions and tucked back in to the creeks. We fished the first two hours of the out going tide and my crew boated eleven beautiful red fish. A free lined shrimp once again was today's bait of choice. After the great red fish action, we made one drift and caught several trout with a few keepers mixed in. DOA deadly combos rigged with the 3" holographic watermelon shrimp was the hot color of the day. The winds kicked up close to 20mph out of the south, so we called it a day. Thanks guys for the fun morning and hope to see you soon... Capt. Dan
