Homosassa Mix...

A solid day inshore Homosassa with the Wallace team and it was fantastic. The red fishing started our day and it was good as it gets. The team had some of the best red fishing one could hope for and it was two hours of unbelievable action. We boated and released over forty red fish and live shrimp were the baits of the day. After our red fish fill, we filled out the day cork rigging a few trout and catching a little mix on some shallow rocks. A busy fish catching day and I thank you all for the wonderful time... Capt. Crystal River Variety...

What a mix of species today for the Surber family. Gene, Darlene and Hannah were my guest and we covered the entire basis. The inshore red fish action was good, plus the trout and it was a great start to the day. Just before 10:30am, we made our way offshore and added some more goodies to the day. Grouper, snapper, mackerel, cobia, bonito, etc... It was a fun one. The grouper bite was a bit slow, but in between grouper drops the other species kept us entertained. I thank you all for the fun time and here's Gene with the first Bonito of the upcoming fall season... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Offshore...

Another good one offshore Crystal River with Gil and Tommy and the guys had quite the day. We stopped inshore on the grass flats and loaded the live-well with fresh live pin fish. The next stop though, was 30ft and we had perfect conditions to do so. We arrived at our destination and the day was made. The guys had to work for the keepers, as we released numerous 22"-23" gags; but we eventually got'em - plus a limit of mangrove snapper. A beautiful day on the gulf and I look forward to next time... Crystal River Reds & Mix...

A bucket list fish day for Joe and Steve on board and these guys had a ball. It was a hot one on the big pond and summers definitely still here. We had a nice mixed bag today from red fish on the keys, grouper, snapper and grunts on the rocks, to cork rigging trout on the flats. It was fun to catch a couple different fish doing different techniques and the team will enjoy a fine sea food platter. A great time and I look forward to seeing you again in the future... Capt. Dan

Crystal River 1/2 day Reds...

Always a fun 1/2 day charter with Gene and Lynda out of the Plantation on Crystal River. I began the day again on the morning high tide with some red fish action and did well. There wasn't as much tide as yesterday, but enough to find a couple red fish. The couple did just fine using live shrimp and we made our way to a shallow ledge to add a couple other goodies to the mix. Some grunts, snapper and sheepshead we also added to the today's total and as always; I thank you for the fun day... Capt. Dan

Slow Gags, hot Mango's...

A fun day with the Roach team out of Crystal River today and even though the grouper bite was slow, we had some good action. I made the run south to the 28ft range and we poked around some of my favorite locations for the gags. We caught a couple gags that just fell short of the keeper mark and a fine red grouper surprised us to come on home. The snapper bite though was great, and a fine limit of mango's came on board and several grunts filled out the day. It was a hot one on the big pond and I thank you all for the great time... Capt. Reds and Rocks...

It was a hot July day today with Mike and Kathy on board and we ran to the rocks for the morning hours, then we tackled some reds. I did make some grouper stops and tried several shallow locations, but they sure did not want to bite today. So, we bent the rods on some grunts with live shrimp and on the afternoon incoming tide; we caught some nice slot red fish. A great day with you both and I thank you... Capt. Dan

A different game plan today and I ran south of Homosassa and tried my way south numbers with Johnny and Lloyd on board. We made our trek to the 20ft range and wow, were the grouper ever on fire. Despite the 53 degree water temp, the gags were keeping us busy all day. We eventually caught some fine sheepshead, numerous grunts and I had hoped for some hog fish; but only one under sized one bent our rod today. We had a great time and I hope to do it again with you guys soon... Capt. Dan

Spring, Winter Trout...

You wouldn't know it's almost January with the weather lately, and it sure has the fish in a different pattern then years past. I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club today fishing the Smith party and the guys did great. I began the day on the out going tide using DOA glow jerk baits targeting trout. I was on the flats where we usually fish in the Spring time of year and the action was great. If you're looking for trout right now and if you see the pelicans diving off the keys; you'll be in the right area. The guys had their trout fix and we ran to a couple rock piles to fill out the afternoon with a mixed catch. A beautiful day and I thank you all for the great time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River on the Rocks...

Well, Christmas vacation is over and it was back to work today. On today's Crystal River charter, I had Sasha and his family visiting from Russia on board. The trip was just a 1/2 day charter, so I kept it simple and ran to some rock piles and caught a mixed bag. Grunts, sea bass, grouper, mackerel.... etc, kept us busy all morning long. The team didn't speak a lot of English, but we had a fun time and I learned to say yes, no and Vodka in Russian. We had a great catch and called it a day just after noon. Thank you all and enjoy all the fresh fish... Capt. Dan
