Crystal River Mix...

Always a fun time with the Taylor family and on today's Crystal River charter, we had a good assortment. The morning began jigging up a nice catch of trout on MirrOlure Lil' Johns and DOA glow cal shad tail jigs. The team put fifteen fine trout on ice in a couple drifts and we then made our way to a sheepshead stop. We anchored up and had some steady action on grouper and sheepshead for an hour or so, before we made our way back inshore. Andrew topped off the trip with a beautiful over slot red fish to end our day. Thank you as always for the great times and I hope to see you soon... Capt. Dan

Weird Weather Trout...

What a weird weather day from fog, rain and in and out sun.... I had a great day though with Scott and Steve and the great trout bite continues. The red fish cooperated a little better and we caught a few shorts and a nice slot fish before we began trout fishing. The trout fishing was as good as it could be, and in a couple drifts on the shallow rock bars; we had fifteen beautiful trout. DOA glow jerk baits did the trick and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan

We covered the inside and out spectrum with Rick and Wannie on board today and the guys had a blast. I began the day where we left the trout yesterday and the bite was great. We drifted the shallow hard bottom area's with DOA jerk baits and did very well. The fish were concentrated on the yellow hard bottom area's and in a couple hours we had fifteen fine trout in the box. Sheepshead were the next request, so I made a run to some ledges and did well to finish up the day. A really fun time, I thank you both and hope to see you soon... Capt. Dan

Always a fun day with Lee on board and for today's Crystal River charter, he brought his Uncle Bob along for the day. We began our day leaving from the Plantation on Crystal River and we made our way to the sheepshead grounds. We anchored and on one structure, we had a fantastic catch of sheepshead. The guys brought in ten fine sheepshead and we then gave our luck tackling some trout. We picked up a couple real nice fish right away, but then the lady fish moved in on us and it made getting to the trout impossible. Still, we had a great time and I look forward to our next trip... Crystal River Hot Sheep's...

What a great day on the sheepshead with Buck and Norm and they really enjoyed their day. I have fished these gentlemen a couple times over the years and this trip was their first experience targeting sheepshead. We anchored on a couple different structures and did very well. The guys boated their fifteen keepers and we also added some trout and a red fish to the mix throughout the day. I thank you both for the fun time and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

The wind swapped out of the East today and allowed us to go offshore again, in search of sheepshead. John, Wayne and Bill were my guest today and in just two drops, the guys had an excellent catch of sheepshead. We kept five fish person then moved on to jigging some trout. I loaded the rods with MirrOlure Lil' Johns and in a couple drifts, the team had some good trout action. A beautiful day and I thank you all for the great time... Capt. Dan

Operation Outdoor Freedom....

A very special day for myself and several other members of the Homosassa Guides Association, as we had the honor of fishing the wounded warriors today. This was a great day and we ensured a great time to make a memorable day for them and their families. Fishing was a bit tough, but we all caught a mix of trout, flounder, Spanish mackerel, pompano and sheepshead. The team and I prepared an outstanding shore lunch and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day and thank you all for what you have done for us. We look forward to next year... Capt. Dan

Two great days of beautiful weather and Bart and Murray had a blast on today's Crystal River charter. I always enjoy fishing with this father and son team and the sheepshead kicked of the day. One drop produced our 10 keeper sheepshead and the sheepshead were following each other to the surface. It was a cool sight and you only see this during the spawning season. Next up, we jigged up some trout and did well on the first drift picking up five keepers. It took a little bit to find five more keepers, but we eventuality got'em and the guys did great. Thank you both for the fun time and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

A very beautiful day on the big pond before the approaching front tomorrow and Dan and Daryl had a ball. I just about did a mirror image to yesterdays charter and my plan worked out great. We made our sheepshead run in the morning, before the tide started running in hard. The guys boated some fine sheepshead for the morning hours and then we ran back in to the keys, to find some shallow water trout. The tide was getting right just before noon and we drifted the flats with DOA glow jerk baits and the trout cooperated nicely. To end the day, a couple red fish came on board with one making it in the slot and another good day out of Crystal River is in the books. Thank you both for the great day and congratulations on a fine catch... Capt. Dan

The gulf has finally warmed up enough to turn the trout on in the skinny water and today was awesome. I had the pleasure of fishing Ron, Gary and Milford and we made our sheepshead run first this morning. The seas were perfect and once we reached our destination, the tide was turning in. The bite was great and the team brought in fifteen beautiful sheepshead. Next up, was the trout and with the gulf water temperature in the low 60's now; we hit the shallow yellow hard bottom area's and DOA jerk baited some trout. My team did fantastic and in two drifts, they had their limit of fine trout. We added a nice red fish to top off the day and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan
