Homosassa Offshore...

The day of all days to go offshore Homosassa with Bill and Larry on board we headed West. The team and I did try our luck at some red fish for a couple quick stops, but only came up with shorts; so we hammered down to grouper land. We reached the 20ft range and the bite was on. Bill and Larry caught a beautiful mix of grouper, snapper, hog fish and grunts to show for the their efforts. Some fantastic action on the offshore rocks piles and I thank you both for the fun day... A picture perfect day offshore Crystal River with Steve and Frank and all I can can say is "awesome". The bite was incredible in 20ft of water and one stop produced a limit of grouper, mangrove snapper, grunts and some bonus hog fish. The sea's were nice with a slight roll out of the South and it was a smooth ride to the grouper grounds. Live shrimp produced the snapper and live pin fish did the trick for the grouper. I thank you both for a great day and congratulations on your catch... Capt. Dan

Gags & Mango's....

An incredible day offshore Crystal River with Bill and Fred and these guys did outstanding. I began the day filling the live well from my pin fish trap and running to some shallow rocks. The shallow grouper bite was a bit slow with one keeper coming on board and a few battles with some bruiser sting rays "wow they can pull." The seas were perfect for an offshore ride, so our next stop was the 20ft range and it was on. The team quickly finished off their grouper limit in short order. After the gags, we sent down some live shrimp on knocker rigs and caught some of the largest mangrove snapper to date. The snapper bite was awesome and a great way to top off the day. Thank you both for the good time and happy birthday Bill... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Rocks...

Another fantastic day on the rock piles with Dan and Rick out of the Plantation on Crystal River and we had a great time. I met the team at the dock at 8am and we headed West. I mad the run to some shallow rock piles in 12ft of water, anchored up and sent down the pin fish. In less than 20 minutes we had our limit of gags and began using shrimp on knocker rigs for the grunts and mango's. The action was excellent and with a box full of goodies, we called it a day. Thank you both for the fun time and I look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

What a great day out of the Plantation on Crystal River with Jeff and Ryon and we had a ball. Once again, running offshore was the plan and we fished the 15ft range today and had some great action. The grouper bite was excellent on live baits and the team quickly caught their limit of gags. To fill out the rest of the day, we sent down live shrimp around the rock piles for a little variety. Numerous grunts, mangrove snapper and flounder filled out the day. A beautiful day and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Grouper Land...

Finally... Today was the day to go offshore and with almost a week of unfavorable conditions; I don't know who was more excited my clients or me. I had Clell and Bob on board for the day and it was awesome. We made the run to 25ft of water and in 15 minutes the team had their limit of beautiful Crystal River gags. Our next stop, I ran a quick mile to some live bottom and with live shrimp on knocker rigs; the guys had non stop action with mangrove snapper, more grouper and a bonus hog fish. It felt great to have the weather to go offshore and I can only hope it holds for the coming weeks.... Capt. Dan

Back Inshore!!!

The first day back to inshore fishing after a long tarpon season run. I had the pleasure of having Jason and Deanna on board and for today's trip, we found some fine Crystal River red fish. The incoming tide was perfect for red fishing, so we hit the back country in the Salt River area and did awesome. The couple caught a fine limit of red fish on free lined live shrimp and a couple mangrove snapper and trout as well. To cool off, we spent the afternoon and Sandy Hook to relax and enjoy the afternoon. Great job today and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Mix...

An awesome day with my great guide friends William Toney and Mark Zorn and we fished the Manriki party out of Macrae's. We each had three anglers per boat and did great. Mix bag catches on the shallow rocks filled out most of the day, with a couple red fish and trout to add to the days 1/2 day charter. The mangrove snapper fishing was excellent and if you get a chance, send down some live shrimp around the rocks piles and you'll catch some fine eating fish... Capt. Dan

On the Rocks Day two...

Day two for us at the Homosassa Fishing Club with the Conklin party and my team today did great again. We ran to the shallow rocks and went jumping rock to rock, catching an assortment of species. The conditions were identical as yesterday and it was definitely bumpy out there for the morning hours. We used live shrimp on Hank Brown jig heads and it was just a fun day of fishing. I thank you all for two great days and I look forward to having you all on board again soon... Capt. Dan

Shallow Rocks...

A very windy day, with it howling out of the East and for some sure fire action; we ran to the shallow rocks and sent down some shrimp. I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club with my great friends Capt. Mark Zorn, Clay Shidler, Rick Spratt and Jonathan Hamilton fishing the Conklin party. We all did the same deal and went rock jumping to keep it simple and fun. Live shrimp on knocker rigs were the baits of the day and the action was great. Just after noon, we pulled up to the club island and prepared a fine shore lunch and we called it a day. I thank you all for the good time and look forward to next time... Capt. Dan
