Homosassa Reds...

Always a fun time with Chris on board and we tackled some nice Homosassa reds. We had to wait until about noonish for the tide to get right, but it eventually started rolling in. We caught a couple trout until then, and we finish up with several slot red fish. Free lined live shrimp did the trick and we had a good time. Thank you Chris and I look forward to next time. Capt. Reds in the Rain...

Our trip got cut short today with the rain storms coming though, but the red fish didn't let us down. Steve and Scott were my guests and I was only able to make two short stops, before mother nature chased us in. The mullet were jumping which means red fish nearby and we immediately hooked up. The guys brought six fine slot sized red fish to the boat, plus a trout for just a couple hours of fishing. We did get wet, but we had a great morning despite the weather... Capt. Dan  -  "On a side note. I'm in the process of moving to a new house, so there maybe a delay in my fishing reports. I'll be up and posting soon as I can and as always; thank you for following me"...

Homosassa Reds...

Some spectacular red fishing out of Homosassa today with Tony and Donna. The tide took a bit to come in today, as the NE wind pushed it out some; but when it turned the fishing was excellent. We jumped around, fished several points and the action was superb. A combination of cut baits and live shrimp produced for us and I thank you both for the exceptional day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Inshore....

A special day inshore Crystal River with the Worthington team and the guys hit it out of the park. The red fish action was superb on the incoming tide on the outer points and it was a couple hours of really good action. I hated to leave the red fish, but there is a big family fish fry on order; so we changed gears for some trout. I kept it simple, fished about 4ft of water and made long drifts with DOA deadly combos for some fine trout. A great start to the week and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Inshore...

Day two with the Wallace party in Homosassa and it was another great one. The fantastic red fishing started our day and we had a double digit morning. Only a couple under slot fish were caught, while the rest were mid to upper slot red fish. The team and I fished them until the tide topped out. Next up, we cork rigged five nice trout towards Chazz, before myself and fellow Capt's. William Toney and Johnathan Hamilton prepared a fine shore lunch. Two really great days of fishing and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Mix...

A solid day inshore Homosassa with the Wallace team and it was fantastic. The red fishing started our day and it was good as it gets. The team had some of the best red fishing one could hope for and it was two hours of unbelievable action. We boated and released over forty red fish and live shrimp were the baits of the day. After our red fish fill, we filled out the day cork rigging a few trout and catching a little mix on some shallow rocks. A busy fish catching day and I thank you all for the wonderful time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Variety...

What a mix of species today for the Surber family. Gene, Darlene and Hannah were my guest and we covered the entire basis. The inshore red fish action was good, plus the trout and it was a great start to the day. Just before 10:30am, we made our way offshore and added some more goodies to the day. Grouper, snapper, mackerel, cobia, bonito, etc... It was a fun one. The grouper bite was a bit slow, but in between grouper drops the other species kept us entertained. I thank you all for the fun time and here's Gene with the first Bonito of the upcoming fall season... Capt. Dan

Inshore Reds & Trout...

A fantastic day inshore with the Coleman team and Clell and Bob had quite the day. I had yesterday off due to truck maintenance, but we began today on the outside keys and free lined live shrimp to produce the red fish to get the day going. The guys brought close to thirty red fish to the boat and it was an hour plus of double rod hook ups and - non stop action. After a great red fish bite, we used DOA deadly combos and tackled some trout off the keys to wrap up the day. A really great day and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Late Red Fish Bite...

Today was one of those late 4th quarter and seconds left on the clock kind of days.....  I had Shane and Ted on board today and we covered some ground. I began the day in the back country in hopes of a snook, but no takers today. The tide was dumping out hard which is usually productive, and at the same time, we tried for some trout- no willing fish. The wind calmed some and I made a run to try and troll up a grouper or two. Well, the water is dirty from the storm and the floating grass made it impossible to do so. I checked the tide stage and the tide was about to start turning in decent around 2pm. I made a long run, staked out and the red fish cooperated nicely. We had a solid hour of non stop action and three were on at a time. The red fish saved the day and I thank you both for sticking with it and congratulations on some fine red fish... Capt. Dan

Back to Work...

Good to be back at the "office" but still saddened by some of the storms aftermath around the river. Today I had the Novinger family on board and we had a nice inshore slam. The family caught a couple snook, trout, red fish and a black drum. We used a variety of baits from jerk baits, cork rigs and live shrimp. The wind was huffing steady out of the East and the water looks very good considering what we've recently experienced. I always enjoy having you all on board and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan
