Crystal River Trout & Cobia...

What a day with the Perkins family on board and they had a blast. The trout bite started out day and we did excellent . From inshore with popping cork to offshore jigging; we nailed them. The tam had a fine catch of fifteen keepers by noon and then we went cobia hunting. We dropped on one of my favorite ledges and picked up a nice pair of cobia to end the day. Free lined pin fish did the trick and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Good Day, Crystal River...

A good day on the big pond out of the Plantation on Crystal River with Ben, Dave and Paul. The guys and I headed to about 8ft today and we had a fantastic trout bite. We jigged up some beautiful trout using MirrOlure Lil Johns and also caught a nice mix of species. The abundance of small gag grouper is overwhelming and it's sure great to see the upcoming stock so strong. To end the day, I dropped on a big ledge and a fine cobia wrapped up our day. I thank you guys and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

A blast today with my good friends and clients Scuba Steve and Jack Mackerel. These guys on board are always a hoot and we had a ball. The trout bite was fair for us today on the outgoing tide and did OK with 8 keepers using DOA deadly combo cork rigs. On the incoming though, the bite was absolutely not happening; so we finished up with a fine limit of reds. We did land a small snook to complete our slam and I thank you both as always for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Chazz - Reds and Trout...

The final day and day three with the West party and today I took the gang way south off Chazz. The trout bite was exceptionally good once the tide turned and in three drifts, the guys had fifteen beautiful trout. I love fishing down there, but as many of you know; the bottom is treacherous. With a fine limit of trout, we trekked back North and ended the day free lining live shrimp and catching some fine red fish. Three great days with you all and I look forward to next time... Capt. Homosassa Inshore...

Day two with the West party in Homosassa and it sure was a good one. The inshore trout action started our day and my favorite; the DOA glow jerk baits got the job done. Nine nice trout came on board and we then jumped into red fish mode. Well, the red fish bite couldn't have been better and in four casts, four reds were on the line. A terrific day and here's David with big red fish honors... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Trout & Reds...

A windy one today for us out of Homosassa, but we stuck to it and made it happen. I was with my great Homosassa Guide Association Captains, and we all fished the West party. Trout and red fish were on the menu and it was a pretty good day. The wind though - was terrible and about the last 2 hours of our day; was almost unbearable. The fish did bite and DOA jerk baits produced the trout, while live shrimp got the reds. A fun time and I'll see you again soon... Capt. Dan

Tarpon Opener...

A wonderful day with Mishel on board and she had a special day. Our trip started out using DOA glow jerk baits along the points and catching a fine upper slot snook to start the day. We took some great pictures of it, and released her to fight another day. Next up, I ran offshore to the cobia area and as luck would have it, two schools of cobia came by the boat and we caugth a couple good ones. The big bonus was Mishel landing the first Tarpon of the season and it was the perfect fish to do so. It was about 50lbs, put on a great show and we got some fantastic pictures. A very memorable day and I thank you as always... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

A much better bite today and Dan, Lauren and Joe had a good one. The started out on the red fish and they were a little bit more cooperative for us as we caught a fine pair of keepers, before we left them and jerk baited some trout. I had the last little bit of the incoming tide to work with and the team caught some fine trout on the shallow yellow bottom, before we ran offshore. Once offshore I moved around a bit and hit the right spot. Dan dropped down a shrimp and brought up the cobia. The free lined pin fish did their job and it was a cobia frenzy. Four beautiful cobia came on ice and we called it a day. I thank you guys as always and I'll see you in a couple months... Capt. Dan

Catching Gags...

The Barlow team was with me today and its always a fun day with these guys. Today though, was a bit on the tough side and as tried our luck for red fish for the morning; it just wasn't happening. So, I made the run offshore rock jumping in hopes of cobia and they were tough to come by as well. The grouper bite was quite good and we sure released a bunch of fine gags. I did eventually find a nice group of cobia and we hooked up on two, but unfortunately they came unbuttoned. Sometimes the fish get the best of you, but we still had a fun time and I thank you guys and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Triple tail Perfection....

A blast today with Ann and Michelle from "Setin' The Hook" apparel and these ladies had quite the day. The team and I started the day in the back country catching a couple snook on DOA jerk baits and they are always a treat. I did try for a couple red fish, but it just wasn't happening for us. So, I said hold on were going for a ride! Well, my triple tail plan worked out perfect and it was excellent. We sight cast several fine triple tail with live shrimp and in no time, we had six beautiful fish on ice. A picture perfect day and I thank you all for the wonderful time... Capt. Dan
