Slow Bite...

A slow bite for us today and the trout sure didn't want to cooperate for the first part of the day. Chase, Pat and Bob were the team and we spent the morning jigging for trout. We caught a couple keepers, but the slow tide and clam conditions made covering ground not to good. The lady fish were in abundance and we sure had our fill of them. We left the trout grounds and with the little bit of incoming tide we had, we picked up a pair of snook to bend the rod. I thank you guys and I'll see you next time... Capt. Dan

CCA Life Tournament...

Today was the annual CCA "Coastal Conservation Association" life members tournament and John and Leah hired me for the day. They had a couple categories for trout, red fish and snook and with snook being very cooperative lately, that was going to be our plan. We hid in the back country and worked some of the deeper cuts between the islands. Well, our plan worked and we caught the winning snook at over 36". We released a few others as well and I thank you both for the fun day... Capt. Dan

The second day this week with Dan, Lauren and Big Fish Bob and the guys had a really good Crystal River charter. We spent the first part of the trip targeting trout and did quite well. We used both provoker and DOA jerk baits and had a fine catch of trout. We found them both inshore and in about 8ft of water. The last part of the day we hit a point and caught a couple snook. No red fish for us today as I believe the snook are more aggressive and beat the red fish to the bait. I thank you all and I'll see you next time... Capt. Dan

Offshore Cobia...

A good offshore trip with Larry, Jim and Dean as we found our cobia we were looking for. This year the cobia are not here in big numbers yet, but were finding a keeper a trip and a few under sized ones too. The gag grouper action is still steady as well with some beautiful gags being released. Live pin fish has been the go to bait and here's Jim with his first keeper cobia... Capt. Dan
