Hot Gags...

Pretty toasty out there on the big pond here lately and the gulf temp is 88 degrees too. We really need some rain to cool it down a bit, but the grouper are still biting. You have to move around and get a fish or couple fish here and there and that's just what the Algore team did this Saturday. The guys turned some quality fish and we stayed in the 35ft of water range. Live pinfish were the deal and great job fellas... Capt. Dan

A family day today and I sure was proud of my bride. Becky accomplished one of the toughest games in town and landed her first permit. I've been seeing this school for a while and they sure are spooky. So we set up way up tide, and slowly trolled in to them. A perfect cast in the school and we were hooked up. A great fish, some good pictures and it was released to fight another day. We ended the afternoon with a fine limit of gags and called it a day.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Tarpon...

Pretty much the exact same deal as the other day on the tarpon, but Chris was on board to join Jim on his couple day adventure. We set up our drift looking for tarpon with DOA bait busters in hand and soon enough we were casting at fish. It took a little bit longer to hook up this time, but soon enough we had a shot and connected on a fish. Chris secured his first tarpon boat side and really did a great job fighting the fish.... Fun Tarpon....

Jim was on board again today and we were tarpon bound. We ran to the tarpon flats and set up a drift. Well, we were in fish right away and presented a DOA bait buster in front of a slow rolling fish. One cast, two twitches and a tarpon was in the air. Jim did a great job, on a really fun fish and we soon took a picture and watched her swim away... Capt. Dan

Quick Stop Gags....

One stop shopping for Jim and Matt today and we made quick work of the grouper bite. I took the guys out to 17ft of water, dropped down the pins fish and in 5 baits, four keepers came on board. Good quality fish in the 25" to 26" range and they were happy campers. A fun day and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan

Shallow Gags...

A great grouper trip with Jim and Dan on board and we stayed shallow and got the gags. It was a surprisingly cool day for June this morning and I actually wore my jacket on the way out. We reached our bait traps, loaded the live well and went fishing. All we did was just jump from ledge to ledge dropping down pin fish and in no time, we secured a fine limit of quality grouper and released several others too. The team did awesome and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

Good Gags....

A really good one, but it was a hot one with Gibbs and J. D. on board from Illinois. We got a jump on the day, pulled our traps and headed West. I made just two stops and the guys did a really fine job turning some good gags. Live pin fsh were the deal and just a couple pull offs, as most of the fish we hooked came to the boat. Enjoy the grouper dinners and I'll see you next time... Capt. Dan

Grouper, Snook & Cobia...

A really great day offshore with Steve on board and he was all by himself to enjoy the day. We caught awesome fish bottom fishing with nice gags, keeper cobia and some whopper spawning snook. Live pinfish was the deal, and for his first trip offshore, he had a great one. Thank you for the fun time and hope to see you next time.... Capt. Dan

A great start to the summer/fall grouper season and Bob and Nancy were the team. The weather man was wrong today, as it was a bumpy one; so we stayed inside and found our gags. No plugs today as the grass is terrible, so live pin fish did the trick. We found four nice keepers, brought a couple hundred pound jewfish boat side and had a fun one. I thank you both and great job... Capt. Dan
