1/2 day Sheep's..
Another frosty morning, so we did a late take off and left at 10am for today's trip. I had the Paff team on board and we spent a 1/2 day, targeting some sheepshead. The full moon is upon us and it really kicked in the sheepshead bite. Live shrimp on knocker rigs were the deal and we had plenty of action. A great day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
Trout & Sheeps....
A fun day with Chris and Gerald as we caught some trout and sheepshead. The day started out running offshore a bit dropping on some sheepshead spots and we caught a few; but it really was a slow bite and a couple pulled off on their way to the top. The tide was coming in good, so we changed gears, ran shallow and caught some nice trout on DOA jerk baits. A nice day, good little mix and I thank you both... Capt. Dan
Trout in the Creeks...
A different change of pace from what I've been doing and it was fun to stay inside and find some trout. Paul and Gary were my team and we did well after just a little bit of a slow start. I haven't been inshore at all so it took me a bit to find the pattern. Soon enough though, we were on them. Just using DOA glow jerk baits in the creeks did their job and the fish were bunched up; which made for multiple hook ups. A fun day and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan
Offshore Goodies....
What a gorgeous day to go offshore and Mark and Craig had an awesome trip. I pushed on out to 40ft of water today and the snapper bite was great. The team secured a beautiful limit of keeper mangos, plus some hefty sheepshead as well. We used close to 300 shrimp and it was a busy day of catching. I thank you both and terrific job... Capt. Dan
Cold 1/2 day Sheep's...
Ice on the boat this morning folks, and yes it was a cold one. I had Jeff and Helen on board for a 1/2 day trip and we found a few. The bite was slow as the gulf is still in the mid 50's, but we found enough sheepshead for a meal or two. Live shrimp on a light 1/8thoz jig head did the trick and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan
Birthday on the Rainbow...
What a fun day to spend my birthday with my good friend Hunter as we fished one of my favorite places, the Rainbow River. I love that crystal clear water and we did very well. We totaled over 20 bass for the day - no giants but several couple pounders on a variety of lures. From whacky worms to top water pugs; all produced very well. A great dat buddy and I thank you.... Capt. Dan
Cold, Cold, Cold....
My goodness, probably the coldest I've been on the water in sometime; but we made it happen. It's been tough to make it out lately between the weather and my treatments I've been doing. Today though, was definitely doable, just the cold to contend with and we did well. I had the boys on board and we stayed busy offshore with grunts, snapper, grouper and sheepshead. A busy day catching and live shrimp was our bait of choice... Capt. Dan
Sheepshead Opener....
A great sheepshead opener with Dan, Joe and Lauren out of Crystal River. We fished a couple different pieces of hard bottom and caught a few on each drop. Mostly smaller males we encountered, with just a couple larger females mixed in. The spawn usually starts in to next month and March when we find the big sheep's. A great day, good conditions and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
Happy New Year....
Happy New Year everyone! I want to thank all of you that fished with me this past year and those of you that follow my website. Some really great catches and I'm looking forward to another fun year. I still have some health issues to deal with, but we'll work around them and I'll fish as much as I can. Today I started out the new year on one of our local lakes with my neighbor and found some quality bass. Even though I don't get to do it very often, but I still love my bass fishing and it was blast. I'll see you all soon and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
