Offshore Mix...

It's definitely a deeper game right now and we made the 20 mile ride to 30ft today. Marilyn and David were my team again and they sure did great. Marilyn had the hot rod for the gags and she whipped them in to shape; while bringing some real nice ones on board. David was the snapper man with some quality mangos coming on board. Great job to you both and I thank you. Some cold fronts arrive this week, with Tuesday being the only chance to make it out it looks like, but we'll have to see. I'll see you all soon... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Gags....

We made the ride offshore Homosassa today to the deeper stuff and it was awesome. I had the Millennium Metals team on board and they turned some fine gags. I pulled my bait traps and then parked it in about 35ft of water. One stop shopping and the team had a limit of real nice quality grouper on live pin fish. A pretty day, good fishing and I thank you all.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Grouper...

A great day offshore with Rick and Greg. We're still having to push offshore a bit due to the cold water temperatures, but if you're up for a ride; the gags are there. We stayed in the 30ft range and did awesome. Several nice grouper came on board and smiles were had. I thank you both and great job Greg on the bonus tripletail..... Capt. Dan

Chilly Gags....

We got them today, but definitely noticed a bit of a slower bite with the chilly gulf conditions. We've had a series of cold fronts now and the gulf is right around 60 degrees. The shallower spots take a bit more patience, but the 25ft range and deeper; the fish will be more aggressive. Jim and Gerald did fine today though with a nice limit caught on pinfish, but we stayed bundled up all day. Great job and enjoy the grouper fingers.... Capt. Dan

Pre Cold Front Gags...

Another tremendous grouper day and the Worthington team got to see it as good as it gets. We have the coldest air of the season arriving tomorrow and with gusty winds and a huge temperature drop, I won't be able to get out for a bit. We had the calm before the storm today however and my goodness, the grouper were on the feed. Numerous quality gags kept us busy and we caught and released big fish of the season at around the 20lb mark. You all did terrific and I'll be going in for treatment again tomorrow. So between that and the weather; I'll be off the water for a couple days. I'll see you all soon... Capt. Dan

Offshore Crystal River....

Marilyn and David were the team today and another hot grouper bite was on order. I pushed offshore a bit out to the 30ft range and wow, was the action ever good. We had a fish on literally every drop and released at least over 30 keeper gags. It's so good to see our fishery in such good shape. They both had quite a day and terrific job... Capt. Dan

Fun Trip...

A fun trip today with good friends Mishel and Earl. We had a good one as the gags were wound up and even had some hitting on the surface. Live pinfish were our baits of choice and we released several other keepers as well, just to have some fun. I thank you both and a great day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Gags....

A tremendous grouper bite today with Bill and Kim on board and they sure had a ball. It was pretty bumpy for the first couple hours, so we trolled a bit and found a pair of keepers on plugs to start the day. The seas soon calmed, so we ran offshore and bait fished some really nice fish. We secured out limit and released over 10 keepers in the 10 to 15lb range. I thank you both and great job... Capt. Dan

Grouper trolling...

Another annual trip for Mr. Emory on board and he brought his son along for the day. Well, we put the dogs in the water and trolled up a really nice limit of quality grouper. All the keepers were double digit fish with the largest topping in at 17lbs. No grass to contend with and it made trolling a breeze. A great day and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

Nice Ones....

Some nice ones today for the Surber team and they come every year around this time for their grouper goodies. Well today was on, and we picked up a couple trolling and on bait. It was a bit bumpy for the morning couple hours, but soon enough calmed right on down for a beautiful day. You both did a great job turning some quality gags and I'll see you next year... Capt. Dan
