Great offshore conditions and the grouper and trout were today's plan. I had the father and son team, Pat and Brad on board and these gentlemen did fine. We ran a little deeper than I have been fishing, checked out the 27ft range and the grouper were there. The tide turned to come in and the grouper were on fire. Every pass produced a fish and we topped off our limit. On the way home, we made a couple stops to jig up some trout and the team put nine beautiful trout in the cooler to end our charter. A great day guys and look forward to seeing you soon... Capt. Dan

The sun finally came out today and it was a beautiful day. Mark and Mark Jr. were along with me for the day and we stayed on the shallow rocks and had a fine mixed catch. Grouper was our first order of business and we jumped rock to rock casting plugs and catching an outstanding limit of quality gag grouper. With plenty of time to kill, we took it easy and worked some more shallow rock piles and caught an assortment of species. There wasn't fast and furious action, but enough to keep the rods bent from time to time. A great day on the Nature Coast and I thank you guys for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Overcast, Rain and Grouper...

Definitely not the prettiest day out there, but we caught some nice gag grouper. I had the pleasure of having Joe and Joanne on board for the day and grouper was on the menu. We left from Pete's Pier Marina and made our way to some shallow ledges. The bite was on right away and we had a couple grouper on ice in a matter of minutes. The tide dropped out and we had to wait a bit for them to turn back on. The tide finally started rolling back in, we changed gears and threw plugs for a beautiful pair of keeper gags to end our trip. We did get rained on... again, but it was well worth it. Thank you both for a fun day and enjoy the fresh grouper... Capt. Dan

One more great day on the trout and grouper and I just love November. This is probably my favorite month to fish and as long as the fronts don't keep us off the water; the fishing is fantastic. Mike, John and Mike were my guests today and this group of gentlemen did outstanding. Today's charter started off trolling up a fine catch of gag grouper and the 18ft range was the hot bite. We had to wait on the tide to get rolling with the slick calm conditions, but when it turned; so did the grouper. The gang put six beautiful gags in the cooler and we were off the jig up some trout. Blue fish, mackerel and all keeper sized trout kept our rods bent for the afternoon. It's so great to see the trout action to be back on and MirrOlure Lil' Johns were the baits of choice. A truly fun day and I thank you all for great time... Capt. Dan

Hey Folks, we hit another one out of the park today and it was definitely quite the day. Pete, Chris and Ed were my guests and these guys were a blast. Today's Crystal River Charter began trolling up a fine catch of quality gag grouper. We trolled a couple ledges and it was on. Bunker and Hot Head Rapala's and Green Mackerel MirrOlures were "the" plugs. I hated to leave the grouper action, but I don't catch and release grouper, so we ran back inshore and tackled some trout. The trout bite was fantastic on MirrOlure Lil' Johns and the guys had a mixed bag of trout, pompano, red fish and Spanish mackerel. The day was beautiful on the outside, but back inshore; we got poured on. This was another one to remember and I can't thank you all enough for such a great day... Capt. Dan

Today was it..... Probably the biggest catch I've had on board and such a variety of species. Judge O'Kelly and Bill were my guest and we brought the Homosassa Fishing Club up to crystal River. The action in Homosassa has been a bit off, so we changed it up and brought the gang North. Myself and Captains Mark Zorn and Jonathan Hamilton were also on the trip and it was truly a banner day. Trout limits across the board and my team did exceptionally well. We had fantastic trout action with a few snook mixed in. A couple Spanish mackerel and a bonus pompano were also added while targeting our trout. My crew reached their limit and we trolled and cast a quick limit of beautiful gag grouper. To ensure an inshore slam, I made a stop in the Salt River and a 1/2 dozen small red fish ended our day. What a day to remember and I can't thank you all enough for such a great day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Quick Gags...

I think if I was trolling a shoe down there, the grouper would have ate it today. What an awesome grouper bite and Lee and Clell hit it out of the park. I picked up the guys from the river house and we made our way offshore. We arrived at our first spot, sent down the plugs and "fish on Capt. Dan". The grouper were so aggressive due to the approaching cold front; we made four passes, four keepers and we had our limit. It may have been the quickest limit I've seen and in less than 15 minutes, we were heading home. The winds were still calm, but the forecast is calling for some pretty bad wind the next few days - especially Wednesday. Thank you both for the unforgettable trip and here's Lee with the first grouper of the day... Capt. Dan

A very special day with a great group of guys. Today, as you all know is Veterans day and I was fortunate to give back and show three great guys an awesome day trolling for grouper. Gene, Rick and Bob were my guest and all being veterans, today was their day. We left from Pete's Pier Marina and made our way offshore. The wind was blowing a bit for the morning hours and we had to stay relatively close to shore until the winds calmed. The crew hung in their and we picked up a couple grouper up front here and their, but when we made our run to the 20ft range; it was on. Rapala x-raps in the bunker and silver mullet color was the ticket. Four beautiful gags over 15 lbs came on board and it was fantastic I'm so glad today was great and I thank you all for the fun day. Here's me and the crew with quite the catch of Veterans day grouper... Capt. Dan

The team send down the plugs this beautiful Sunday day and the gags were on the ready. I had the Keeler family on board again for their annual November trip and after last years great trout day, it was grouper time for us today. We trolled some shallow ledges and one of my favorite "secret" wrecks and it was good. Just a couple passes on each spot and we had a fine grouper limit. The gags were a little more aggressive today and the water had cleared some from yesterdays trip. We tried our luck on a couple trout drifts and caught a few, but it was pretty slow - so we called it a day. I thank you both for a fun time and enjoy the fresh grouper fillets... Capt. Dan

Birthday Grouper....

It was grouper weather today folks and we caught some trolling and casting plugs. I had Mishel and Earl on board for day two of their two day trip and it was a good one. Today was Earls birthday and the grouper cooperated nicely. We began the day in the river catching a nice snook to get the day going, before we ran West. The winds were much better today and we trolled the 15ft range and put a nice pair of keeper gags on ice. The action was slow after that, so we ran to the shallow stuff and cast up a limit of really nice gags. The 7ft range was on fire and we actually had two of them get the best of us. Rapala F18 plugs in the mullet color was the bait of the day. I thank you both for a fun two days of fishing and here's the birthday boy with a beautiful Crystal River gag... Capt. Dan
