A family day today and I sure was proud of my bride. Becky accomplished one of the toughest games in town and landed her first permit. I've been seeing this school for a while and they sure are spooky. So we set up way up tide, and slowly trolled in to them. A perfect cast in the school and we were hooked up. A great fish, some good pictures and it was released to fight another day. We ended the afternoon with a fine limit of gags and called it a day.... Capt. Dan

Yes lightning does strike twice and that's exactly what we experienced today with Dan and Roy for day two. Today's charter was exactly the same as yesterday's trip and the grouper were in a great mood. The team turned some good ones with a 14lber being the largest. I made a stop on the way home on the permit area and we made it happen as Roy landed a beauty to wrap up the day. A tremendous couple of days despite the June heat and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

First Season Gags...

A break from the tarpon grind and Roy and Dan were my first clients to tackle the opening season gags. Well, they sure didn't disappoint and the team did great. We used live pin fish and sent them down on bottom rigs to turn the grouper . The water is exceptionally clear, so I backed off my leader size and it made a difference. On the way home after a fine limit of grouper, I made a stop at an area I've been seeing permit and the guys said go for it captain; and let me catch my first permit. It was a beauty at 12lbs and you can see the pictures on my Crystal River Fishing Facebook page. A great day and I thank you both....Capt. Dan

Big Surprises...

What an awesome trip today... Danny and Christine were my guests and it was fabulous mixed bag day. The red fishing started our day and the team caught a fine limit of red fish, on the points with free lined live shrimp.  The seas were glass calm, so we headed West to the 28ft range. Well, while anchored up; we had some surprises and permit, grouper, snapper, grunts and mackerel filled out our day. The Permit were the big bonus as I've lived my entire life here on the water and have seen them from time to time, but today was my day to catch them - as we brought three to the boat. A day to remember and I can't thank you both enough for the great day... Capt. Dan
