It was day two today with the Faulk party and myself and Capt. Rick Spratt had a fun time with this group. I had Mark and Scott on board for the day and we did great jigging some trout in the morning and finishing the afternoon, with a dozen sheepshead. The trout were picky today and had to go to the gulp shrimp to get our bites, while live shrimp on a knocker rig was our tackle of choice for the sheepshead. Capt. Spratt found some early arrival Spanish Mackerel and free lining live shrimp was the ticket for the macks. It was a great couple days with you all and look forward to your future visits... Capt. Dan

Mike from Texas experienced trout fishing at it finest, out of Crystal River today. We left the dock at 8am sharp and ran down the river, while hungry trout were awaiting us. Using MirroLure Lil' Johns in the glow and watermelon colors, we had our limit in short order. We had a couple mixed variety species as well, including pompano, bluefish and spanish mackerel - spring is on it's way. Our next stop was the offshore ledges is 17ft of water and we found some beautiful sheepshead. It took a little while for the sheepshead bite to get going, but when the tide turned, the sheepies turned on. For an extra bonus, a school of bonito cruised by and Mike hooked up and had a great battle with a poor mans tuna. Great weather, fatastic fishing; it coulnd't had been any better. A tough one yesterday and about as good as it gets today; you just never know. I was at the Homosassa fishing club today with fellow Homosassa Guides Association Captains Mark Zorn and William Toney for a full day of chasing down some sheepshead, I had the Sinkler family on board and we had an absolute perfect day. With calm seas, I ran offshore to the 15ft range and targeted some of my favorite hard bottom structures and the fish were there. Spanish mackerel, grunts, grouper, porgies, black sea bass, and numerous sheepshead, made for some fantastic action. Using live shrimp on the 1/8th oz Hank Brown jig head was once again our tackle of choice. We had over 20 keeper sheepshead and a couple were over the five pound mark, with the big one just under 10lbs. Captains Zorn and Toney did great as well with some great mixed bag varieties and it was  just a great day to be on the water. Dr. Marks from Sanibel Island joined me this Christmas Eve, for a full day out of Crystal River. With the action being so great on the shallow hard bottom areas, that was were we spent our day catching some tasty seafood species. The morning started out with a foggy, light drizzle; but ended with blue skies and sunshine. The sea bass bite was outstanding once again, but I encountered more sheepshead this charter for a welcomed surprise. Grouper, trout, Spanish mackerel, grunts, sea bass, sheepshead and a end of the day red fish, was our total plethora of species for the day. Great action, good laughs, funny stories; it was truly a perfect day on the water. I thank you for the great time and have a Merry Christmas... Capt. Dan

I had the Noto family on board from California today and they requested some tasty seafood for their Christmas Eve dinner. I suggested keeping it simple and spending the day jumping rock pile to rock pile making sure Tom's sons caught plenty of fish. I enjoy this style of fishing very much and it ensures the most novice anglers, a great time and plenty of action. We fished about half a dozen different structures today and numerous sea bass, mackerel, grouper, grunts, etc... kept our rods bent. Once again just using a 1/8th oz Hank Brown jig head and a live shrimp was our bait choice of the day. The guys had a great time and really enjoyed catching the variety of species. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and if you were feeling like me, it was a little tough to get going this morning from eating such a great meal. However, a couple cups of coffee and rigging up the rods; I was ready for a great day with Matt, Mike and Tom out of Crystal River. Leaving from Pete's Pier Marina, we ran out the river and we were welcomed to an "extremely low tide". I had to get creative on my fishing locations, but deciding on working the cuts between the oyster bars, we began catching several trout to start the day. The trout bite was pretty steady, but I wanted to gives the guys a little variety, so we ran offshore to the rock piles and found a mixed bag. Numerous grouper, sea bass, grunts, porgys, mackerel and sheepshead filled out our afternoon catch, before we ran back inshore to find a last minute red fish. Back in the creeks, with a minimal high tide, we caught a couple under slot red fish; while Matt had the hot rod and picked up a beautiful 24" keeper to end the day. I had a father and son team on board today out of Crystal River, and Bill Jr. and Sr. had a great day. With a perfect morning incoming tide, we began the day catching several back country red fish on Pete's Piers finest live shrimp. We boated nine reds, made a quick run south and started picking up some very nice trout. Using a combination of Mirrolure Lil' Johns and DOA shrimp, the guys had some great trout action in the shallow water. For the last stop of the day, we targeted the rock piles and found a few Spanish mackerel and sea bass willing to bend our rods before we called it a day.
