Team Lady Angler...

It's been a while since I've had the Lady anglers on board and it sure was another fun day with them catching some fish. I was worried with the conditions as it was howling out of the NE and a weak cold front came through Friday evening. I said we'll give it a go and I'm glad we did. I kept it super easy and we just drifted live shrimp under corks around the oyster bars and did outstanding. Between all the white caps and little chill in the air, the trout were very cooperative and the team put nineteen fine trout on ice. We made it happen and great job ladies... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Slam...

We stayed inshore today with the stiff South wind and Chris and Frank did very well. The father and son team completed the inshore slam with a fine catch of trout, redfish and the ever elusive slot snook. DOA glow jerk baits were the lone producer and they caught all the fish for us. We released a couple under slot snook as well, and a hefty 33" red fish to top off the day. I thank you both and great job team... Capt. Dan

Better Weather...

It was still breezy today, but the conditions were so much better and definitely more fish able today. Dan, Lauren and Big Fish Bob were my guests and the team did very well. The day went so smooth, as the sheepshead and trout cooperated nicely. The sheepshead were in there usual haunts and the trout were in the creeks with DOA glow jerk baits, being the flavor of the day for them. A super fun day and great job fellas... Capt. Dan

Almost a Record...

A really good day with Lee on board and we had beautiful conditions, to do a little bit of everything. Sheepshead was our main target and we caught some hefty ones. I was fishing too and as my rod went off,I hooked in to a beast. Well, long story short; it was my personal and largest sheepshead to date on board and turned out to be just 1lb from the state record. She did get released and hopefully in the future I will encounter her again. We finished up the day jigging up a couple trout, red fish and a very memorable day is in the books. I thank you Lee and here's the big girl of the day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

What another good haul for Phil on board, for day two. We pretty much did the exact same drill as yesterday, but we caught our trout in the morning. Sheepshead were on the same structures and so were the triple tail. Some of the largest sheepshead of the year put bends in the rods, and a couple were over 10lbs. Two really great days and I thank you as always for the fun time - and you make the best sandwiches... Capt. Dan

Big Haul...

Much better conditions today and "Uncle" Phil was in town from Pennsylvania. It's always a fun time when he's here and we had an awesome catch today. A pair of red fish started our day on an oyster bar and it was two cast's, two fish. Sheepshead were up next and we soon enough had a fine catch. We left the sheepshead and ran down some triple tail for our mid day in between tide changes - they are always a welcomed surprise. To end the day we jigged with MirrOlure Lil' Johns and a good catch of trout made their way on board. A fun 1st day buddy and I'll see you tomorrow... Capt. Dan

Did Somebody Say WIND!!!

Holy Mackerel!!! It was howling today, but John, Bill and Wayne were ready to go for it. I ran out the Salt River and in to the gulf, but quickly turned around; as we tucked in the back country for the day. Using artificials were out of the question, as I kept it simple and free lined live shrimp under a cork. It worked out just fine and a nice catch of trout came on board and a bonus red fish for our 1/2 day trip. Thank you guys for coming every year and hopefully we'll have better conditions next time... A stellar day with Lauren, Dan and Joe and the Villages team hit it out of the park. Our trip began on a quick offshore run before the wind picked up and the sheepshead bite was fast and furious as it could be. Soon as we dropped it was fish on and some beauty's at that. The seas picked up though and we moved around inshore out of the wind best we could and secured some fine trout on DOA jerk baits. You guys are so great to fish with and another fun day... Capt. Dan

Sheeps' & Trout...

A beautiful day with the Riley team and even though it was a pretty cold start to the day. it warmed up nicely. I picked up the team from the Plantation on Crystal River and we began dropping down on some sheepshead bottom. The bites weren't furious, but steady enough to keep us interested. We kept all we needed and added some trout to the mix on jigs. I thank you both and great job... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Good Catch...

A really awesome trout bite today with Chuck, Tim and Kyle and the guys got them going. We left from the Plantation on Crystal River and made our way to some rock piles and jigged up some beautiful trout. Root beer colored Lil' Johns were the flavor and some stout trout came on board. Not to much in by catch today as just a couple lady fish and a few grouper - it was mostly keeper sized trout. We fished the afternoon for red fish but most were little guys again, but a fine 26" ended our day. A fun time guys and I thank you... Capt. Dan
