Always a fun time with Ron, Lauren and Jim and these guys had solid day. We began the trip dropping down shrimp on some ledges and did just fine with some good looking sheepshead. They were biting steady and so were the gags, as they kept us busy as well. As the tide came in, we swapped gears and finished up the day catching a few trout. We caught some real quality fish on jerk baits and I thank you guys as always for the fun time... Capt. Dan

A super fun Sunday with John and Val and the husband and wife team did fantastic. We stayed inshore for the day and targeted trout and red fish. The trout were quite cooperative and they were caught on a combination of DOA glow jerkbaits and bourbon colored Lil Johns. A fine limit came on board and we dunked some shrimp on the outer points for a couple red fish. I thank you both and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

As I cleaned the boat this morning, I saw the first signs of spring with lots of yellow pollen coming off. This means it's just about trout time and we sure found some today with the Sumner team. I had the guys for their last of the 4 day fishing adventure they've been on, and I had them the last two days. Good trout action for us with MirrOlure Lil Johns to get the day going and it was great to see some nice trout. The guys and I also ran offshore quite a ways and did pretty well on the sheepshead to finish up the day. A fun trip with you all, I thank you and you have plenty of goodies to take back home... A mix of trout and Sheepshead today with the Sumner team and we did OK; for the choppy and extremely foggy conditions. I met the gang at the Plantation on Crystal River and we were greeted to dense fog conditions. It might as well been raining for how wet we were, but we pushed through it. The guys jigged up a couple nice trout before we ran to sheepshead land on MirrOlure Lil Johns. The sheepshead were biting pretty good right away, but soon enough the winds picked up and the sea's got quite rough. We ran inshore some, picked up a couple more nice sheepshead and another great day on the big pond is in the books... Capt. Dan

Little by little, each day is getting better and better form the harsh winter we've had. Today's trip with Shane and Ryan on board did very well on some shallow structures on sheepshead. Lots of grouper action again as well and it's always so good to see the juvenile fish in such great numbers. The tide was later and we fished a bit extra overtime, to see if the trout would turn on. Well, they did and we found some nice ones on DOA jerk baits to wrap up the day. A fun time and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

We got today in and just in the nick of time, as a windy cold front is pushing through tonight. Bill, Roland and Mel were the team today and we spent the majority of the day sending down shrimp and catching a few sheepshead and small grouper. The bite was pretty good right away as Mel had the hot rod; but as the sea's built up and temperature dropped, so did the action. We left the sheepshead grounds on the bumpy sea's and added a couple trout on DOA jerk baits to wrap up the day. Always a fun time with you guys and I thank you... Capt. Dan

Day two with the Beeson party and we had the same game plan. The bite was quite a bit slower then yesterday, as there was much more boat traffic on the river and makes it a bit congested. The team and I still caught a few small snook and a fine trout using jigs along the shorelines. The darker colors seem to work a little better for the snook as using anything "flashy", will guarantee a lady fish on the end of your line. A fun, but very cold couple days and I thank you all... A quick update before today's report.. Well folks, it looks like a major snook kill for our area from the Withlacoochee area to Chassahowitzka. I've seen lots of pictures of dead snook of all sizes and even though we still have several thousand that are safe in the rivers, the "outside" population took the hit. We'll still have fish to catch, but like the 2010 freeze; it will take some time to recuperate... However though, I did have a great first charter to start 2018 with the Beeson party in Homosassa. Myself and Capt's. Mark Zorn, William Toney, Rick Spratt and John Hamilton all had ice on board our boats and we made something happen in the cold conditions. The gang and I stayed in the river and had some luck with a mixed bag around the springs. Snook, red fish, jacks, large mouth bass, trout and we even jumped a tarpon, filled out our day. It's a small area, but we did OK, as the gulf will be slow for quite a few days. Here's Phil with one of the larger snook of the day... Capt. Dan

The Barlow team was with me today and Tim and Ron were the guys to get it going on. I met the father and son team at the Plantation on Crystal River and we headed to the ledges to troll up some gags. Well, the grouper bite was exceptionally good; as we trolled our way to a limit of grouper and Rapala plugs were the flavor of the day. After our grouper and the outgoing tide, we jigged up ten fine trout to top off the day. Congratulations fellas on a great day and enjoy all the fresh fish... Capt. Dan

Barbara and David were the team today from the Smith party and once again, we ran to grouper land. I took the husband & wife team plug casting and they did great. Some nice grouper came on board in just two stops and we then jigged up some trout in 7ft of water. I tied on some root-beer MirrO'lure Lil' Johns and the trout were concentrated on some rock piles. We trout fished for and hour and made it back inshore, for our afternoon shore lunch. Two great days and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
