Inshore & Offshore...

A fun day with Bart, Danny and Shane and the team had a good catch both offshore and inshore. We started the day drifting some spotty bottom in 8ft of water and put a dozen nice trout on ice using MirrOLure Lil' Johns. It was a little bumpy with the stiff East wind, but around noon it calmed and we ran offshore. The Offshore action was good and we brought 5 cobia to the boat and a couple whopper gags. Bart had big fish honors with one well in the double digit range. The guys had quite the day and we found a new grouper rock that was loaded with some hefty gags for when the season opens... Capt. Slow Bite...

A slow bite for us today and the trout sure didn't want to cooperate for the first part of the day. Chase, Pat and Bob were the team and we spent the morning jigging for trout. We caught a couple keepers, but the slow tide and clam conditions made covering ground not to good. The lady fish were in abundance and we sure had our fill of them. We left the trout grounds and with the little bit of incoming tide we had, we picked up a pair of snook to bend the rod. I thank you guys and I'll see you next time... Capt. Dan

The second day this week with Dan, Lauren and Big Fish Bob and the guys had a really good Crystal River charter. We spent the first part of the trip targeting trout and did quite well. We used both provoker and DOA jerk baits and had a fine catch of trout. We found them both inshore and in about 8ft of water. The last part of the day we hit a point and caught a couple snook. No red fish for us today as I believe the snook are more aggressive and beat the red fish to the bait. I thank you all and I'll see you next time... Capt. Dan

Fun Trout...

A fun day with the Lent team and Jerry, Bill and Roland had a good one. It was Roland's birthday today and he celebrated it in style with some steady trout action. All the guys kept their rods bent and MirrOLure Lil' Johns did their job. The day was absolutely perfect and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Dan

The Coleman team was with me today and we had fun start to the week jigging for trout. The bite was a little slow for the first couple hours, but as the tide turned it quickly picked up. The hot bait today was the watermelon red flake provoker jerk bait from MirrOlure and a 1/8th oz jig head. The team secured a fine catch and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Trout & Snook....

The Fitzpatrick team was on board today and it sure was a beautiful day. I began offshore again on the trout, but it was a bit slower bite today. The tide was going one way and the wind the other and covering ground was a challenge. As the tide picked up though, so did the bite and the team secured thirteen nice trout on ice. I did make a couple stops for snook and they were in a happy mood, as we picked up a couple to end the day. A really fun day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Good Trout Drifting...

A big change in the weather from yesterday and we were able to get offshore to the trout grounds. Dan, Joe and Lauren were my guys and they had some superb trout action. We fished in about 8ft of water and kept it simple making a series of drifts with plenty of trout action. A combination of glow and watermelon red flake Lil' Johns were our colors for the day and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Big Red, Cold Front...

A late season cold front for us today and oh my, was it ever chilly and windy. John and Nelson were the team today and it was definitely a challenge out there. The water was mud to the North of Crystal River, so we headed South for the day. We scrapped out five trout and a couple red fish for our efforts, but across the board with myself and the other guides - it was a tough one. Weather should improve a bit over the next couple days and Friday, we get another big front. Great job today though guys and a whopper of a redfish Mr. John... Capt. Dan

Trout Jigging...

A fun team today and we went back to the trout plan and Chris, Scott and Chris did very well. I took the guys to some good spotty bottom in 8ft of water and basically just made a series of drifts for some nice trout. MirrOlure Lil' Johns were the baits for us and the watermelon red/flak was the top producer once again. There's an abundance of under sized tout out there right now, so take a little extra care when releasing them as they are our upcoming stock. I'll see you all next week... Capt. Dan

Good Trout...

Another great day offshore jigging up some trout with the Sumner team. The guys and I fished in about 8ft of water and watermelon red flake Lil' Johns were the ticket for us. Lots of action with short trout, but enough keepers were mixed in to keep us interested as well. A few bonus mack's bent the rod too and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Dan
