HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone and what a great way to kick off the new year. It was day two at the Homosassa Fishing club with the Waits party and Bo, Caroline and Robert were my anglers. We had a 1pm shore lunch on schedule and also to be back to catch some football games; so I kept it simple and drifted the shallow hard bottom areas off the keys for trout. The team was loaded with DOA glow jerk baits and with the approaching front, the trout bite was excellent. Sometimes, I really think the fish can sense when we're having a major weather change and they feed hard before it arrives. We had a fine limit of trout and made an outstanding shore-lunch to end the day. Thank you all for starting my 2016 year with such a great charter and I look forward to seeing you next time... Capt.
