Back from Maine Sept. 24th - Oct. 2nd 2010 Featured

salmonJust home from another fantastic fishing trip from the North woods of Maine. Fall was in the the air, leaves changing color, trout and salmon were all lit up and a great time with friends and family. We fished a variety of rivers and streams including Spencer, Moose, East Outlet, Wilson and Kennebec to name a few. All areas produced very well and for the week I totaled over 30 salmon, some were in the 20" class and several beautiful brook trout. All the fish were caught on my own tied flies and it's a good feeling when the locals are asking a Florida boy what are you using and "hey man very nice catch". The weather wasn't the best and many days it rained and it was quite warm from the previous trips of the last couple of years. However, it didn't slow us down and the fishing really was great. I enjoyed meeting Bob from Kennebec River outfitters and the folks at the Maine Guide Fly Shop hope to see some of you down here some time. A big thanks to Westy, Rich, Jess, Josh, the Unit and the Shipyard brewery for a very memorable trip. Here is one of the land locked salmon of the week "caught on a lizardfish pattern", I'll see you all next year... Capt. Dan
