A Little Scouting. Dec. 15th 2010 Featured

PC150317With a break in the weather, Capt. Mark Zorn and I did a little scouting for some upcoming charters. Christmas time is going to be busy and having several charters scheduled for the coming weeks, we were on a mission to locate some fish. The last few days have been brutally cold and extremely windy. Sunday and Monday brought seas offshore in excess of 14ft and wind gusts to 40mph. Today was cold, with a morning temperature of 19 degrees, but finally the winds calmed and it was time to get back on the water. Needless to say, the trout were waiting for us down the river and we did extremely well using jigs worked slowly along the bottom. The lady fish kept us busy in between the trout strikes and a few snook were an added bonus. The gulf temperature is 50 degrees and if your planning on going out there, remember a very slow presentation is necessary to get the strikes. Thanks Mark for the fun day and here's yours truly with the first snook of the day... Capt. Dan
