The early arrival of the Spanish mackerel is a welcomed sight. With just a couple of more days until trout season opens, it's nice to be able to add a little variety to the cooler. I had Tom and Paul on board today out of Pete's Pier  and we ran offshore Crystal River to absolute beautiful conditions. Crystal clear water, mackerel every where and a few hungry sheepshead made for a perfect day. The macks were caught on jigs and free lined shrimp, while the sheepies were boated on the live shrimp knocker rig combination.
