South Wind Trout. April 4th 2011 Featured

Written by
P4040438A pretty day out of Crystal River, but we had a steady 15mph South wind to contend with. I had my annual clients from Maine on board today. DJ and Dave were back once again for some inshore fishing. We started the day working the oyster bars and catching trout after trout, but they they were all on the short side. The winds switched to high gear, so we mad a long run to get out of the wind and make the conditions more enjoyable. The keepers starting coming and the guys had some upper slot trout with a few over the 20" mark. DOA deadly combos with the glow cal shad paddle tail was today's bait of choice. We left the trout and found a few redfish back in the creeks and a lost mackerel. I thank you guys for the fun day and I hope it starts to warm up for you when you get back home. Here is DJ with a beautiful 21" trout... Capt. Dan
