A perfect 1/2 day charter out of Pete's Pier today and I have Fred and Carrol to thank for it. We left the marina at 8am sharp and started the morning catching several mackerel. The couple was here on vacation and only wanted to keep a couple for a meal or two, so we put four macks in the cooler and released the others. Chumming and freelining live shrimp was the ticket for the macks. For a change of pace, I suggested trying for a trout or two and we did just that. The DOA deadly combos in the holographic root beer kept us busy with the trout and lady fish. We ended the trip giving them a tour of the springs and finding a manatee to top it off.
