Quite a variety today out of Crystal River and an always welcomed surprise when a couple pompano come aboard. Dave, Rick, Heath and Larry met me at Pete's Pier this morning and this great group of guys just wanted to catch some fish. So for guaranteed action, we ran offshore and did some jigging. The bite was pretty good today until the seas went flat. No breeze and little tide movement slows the fishing down, but when the sea breeze kicked in, the fish fired right up. We had a great mixed catch of sea bass, pompano, trout, grunts, lady fish, flounder, sharks etc... and the group had well over a 100 fish day. Using a combination of DOA holographic root beer shrimp and camo colored gulps were all we needed for success. Thanks guys for the fun day and here is Rick with one of today's pompano... Capt. Dan
